Over 90,000 babies are admitted to neonatal units across the UK each year.

Premature or sick babies, their families, and the medical staff who care for them need extra special facilities and medical equipment to help get them through the first weeks of life.

Here at CMS, we supply neonatal units across the country with specialist devices designed to support, warm, and monitor new-born and premature babies in intensive care. From specialist infant feeding and positioning to jaundice treatment and resuscitation.

Another great success story featuring BiliCocoon® - targeted at treating neonatal jaundice at home!

https://www.centralmedical.co.uk/bilicocoon-nest-system/

Two thousand babies – the highest number in the UK – have now been treated at home for their jaundice thanks to an innovative light therapy service.💙

The Home Phototherapy Service, delivered by the Neonatal Community Outreach Team (NCOT), supports families whose babies are born at Heartlands, Good Hope and Birmingham Women's hospitals. The specialist neonatal nurses who make up NCOT play a vital role in promoting and supporting safe, early discharge from the Neonatal Unit, ensuring babies with additional medical needs receive expert care in the comfort of their own homes.

Not only does this support babies' recovery, but it also gives parents precious time together as a family while receiving expert care and daily support from the Neonatal Community Outreach Team.

Mahreen, whose son Eisa received phototherapy treatment at home, said: "When we were told Eisa needed treatment for jaundice, we were worried and assumed it would mean staying in hospital for several more days. We had no idea that home phototherapy was even an option.

"Being able to take our baby home while still getting the treatment he needed made such a difference to us as a family. We could relax in our own surroundings, get some rest and spend precious time together without the stress of being on a busy ward.

"The team explained everything clearly and checked in with us every day, which gave us real peace of mind."

💜 Did you know that every time we sell a Kanmed Twin Cot, we donate 5% of the cost to The Ickle Pickles Children's Charity?

We’re incredibly proud to share that, to date, Central Medical Supplies has donated £9,485 to Ickle Pickles through our partnership. 💜

Our partnership was created with a simple goal: to help support babies, families and neonatal teams when they need it most.

Every Kanmed Twin Cot purchased through CMS helps us contribute directly to Ickle Pickles’ vital work - funding neonatal equipment and supporting families through the incredibly challenging experience of having a baby in neonatal care.

The Kanmed Twin Cot provides a practical solution for co-bedding twins, helping neonatal teams provide developmentally supportive care while keeping babies close together.

And the best part? Every sale makes a difference.

We’re proud that our partnership with Ickle Pickles allows the products we supply to neonatal units to have an impact beyond the hospital environment - helping to support families too. 💜

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped make this possible.

Here’s to reaching the next milestone together! 👶🏼👶🏼💜

We are delighted to welcome Ed Mathews to the CMS team. Ed will be joining us as the Critical Care Regional Account Manager, covering the South East of England.

Commenting on what attracted him to CMS and his new role, Ed says: “I was attracted by the culture at CMS and felt, from my interactions with the management team, I would fit in well within the CMS family. I wanted to specialise within one area and critical care gives me the chance to do so while still engaging with hospital theatres and wards. I’m looking forward to bringing innovative solutions to everyday problems faced by NHS teams.”

Designed to safely warm blankets and IV or irrigation fluids, they help maintain patient normothermia, support improved clinical outcomes, and enhance patient comfort throughout the perioperative journey.
