What is ceremony?

Ceremony is an honoring, think of the occasions when we have ceremonies in contemporary society. A wedding is a ceremony, honouring the union between two humans. A funeral is a ceremony honoring someone’s life. In a shamanic ceremony we work with the spirit realm and honour with carefully designed rituals and practices. During the Seasonal Ceremony this month we will be honoring and celebrating the Summer Solstice, working with the energy of the season to connect us to our place within the seasons and cycles of life. A ceremony is a liminal space, a place of healing for us and the spirits.

A ceremony is a sacred space so photographs cannot be taken during the event as taught by in Sacred Space Weaver. The photographs I have used here are not of an actual ceremony, they are staged, but this looks similar to how the space will be set up on the day. If you are curious I look forward to sharing sacred space with you.

Throughout most of my life I have had one special female friend. The actual person changes over time but it's the same energy, someone I feel safe with. A person I can build a deep meaningful relationship with. We go deep, it's not surface level, there is little small talk. We have each other's back. We learn from each other, we share secrets. This is what it's like with Rose, she is my plant bestie.

At the Summer Solstice Seasonal Ceremony we will work with Cacao and Rose, two different kinds of heart medicine. They match beautifully together. I can't wait to introduce you to them.

Beltane Blessings for those this side of the planet, Samhain Blessings to those in the South.

Beltane energy is fertile and playful, we are starting to feel the fire in the sun in the Northern Hemisphere. The plants are blooming, the birds are twittering and the bees are busy.

I have seen hedgerows bursting with Hawthorn blossom. A beautiful plant ally at this time of year. Try making tea with the blossom. Hawthorn is a wonderful heart medicine and encourages self-love. I have been working with Hawthorn essence lately, it helps with self-forgivness and works surprisingly quickly.

Equinox Blessings

It's the Spring Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere tomorrow. A sacred pause, a threshold moment, before we head into the light side of the year.

On the 28th March you are invited to gather in ceremony to honour the Spring Equinox. We will be working with our plant ally Nettle, drinking a brew specially prepared for our group. We will also work with the energy of the egg, expressing ourselves creatively. Meditation and a drum journey will take you deep into your subconscious to connect with your goals for this year.

I am excited to be sharing these very special ceremonies at the Space to Breathe Collective, Leicester in 2026 celebrating the Equinoxes and Solstices.

Imbolc Blessings, Lughnasadh Blessings if you are in the Southern Hemisphere.

A while back wrote that Imbolc is like 3am if you imagine the Wheel of the Year as a clock face. This resonated with me deeply and has influenced my thinking ever since. Who would be getting up and starting their day at 3am? There is a lot of sleeping still to do. So if you are still feeling as if the year hasn't really got going, you're probably tuned into the rhythms of the Earth and honouring her slumber. There are a few sparks of life poking through the soil, the snowdrops and daffodils those natural early risers whose job it is to bring a little hope to the grey, cold and wet days.

Over the next week notice how your body feels and watch what is happening in nature. This is the energy of Imbolc.

The Seasonal Ritual Circle is an opportunity to tap into the energy of the season and draw sustenance from something much bigger than you: the Earth.

A chance to heal together, community, to be each other's mirrors. Each group that gathers provides us with exactly what we need.

We create a calm, nourishing circle together, a sacred pause, time to tend to our hearts and dreams.
