Day 3 of
Did you know Dietitians have to be registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) to be able to practice. At any time we can be called for audit, where we have to demonstrate evidence of safe practice.
Here is the link to check the register https://www.hcpc-uk.org/check-the-register/

Thought I'd make my own granola today, which is high in fibre, high in protein & healthy fats.

Started with jumbo oats & added a few spoonfuls of: chia & linseeds, almonds & pecans, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, dessicated coconut & dried cranberries.

I then added some peanut butter & honey and mixed it all together. In the oven to bake for 25 mins (160 oC) and done! Finally once cooled, added a bit of dark chocolate šŸ˜‹ šŸ‘

Just lately on social media I am seeing more people post about seed oils & advice to avoid and being bad for your health. What does the evidence say? šŸ¤”.
Here is a great article by Dietitian at British Heart Foundation to set the record straight šŸ‘

We investigate claims that seed oils like sunflower, rapeseed and soyabean high in omega-6 fatty acids increase inflammation and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Discover BHF’s verdict.

āļø HIGH PROTEIN, HIGH FIBRE LUNCH IDEAāļø

Wanted a quick meal after my run šŸƒā€ā™€ļøtoday so had 3 scrambled eggs🄚 on 2 x slices of rye bread šŸž, a bit of spread & 1 tsp sprinkle of chia seeds.

This meal provides around 29g of protein & 7g of your recommeded 30g of fibre a day šŸ‘.

Protein & fibre can help you feel fuller for longer & keep blood glucose levels stable.

New year diet & lifestyle changes don't have to be extreme. Just a few positive changes can make a big difference!

Keep a look out šŸ‘€ for more of my quick meal ideas.
