Midlife hazards. Pillows and cupboards. ☢️⚠️

Take care out there 🤣

Neck spasms and back spasms are similar. You have to move as much as the pain will allow, whinge to everyone in earshot and let it pass.

It does.

Till next time.

“Healthy user bias” means people who lift weights are often healthier in lots of other ways too.

That’s a limitation of big studies like this.

But it’s also a useful reminder that health habits tend to come as a package deal.

Personally, I’d rather be in the group that lifts weights than the group that doesn’t.

So, if you’re metabolically healthy, you don’t need to worry about spikes,

but it’s a good idea not to be drinking coke or equivalent sugary drinks like they’re going to become extinct.

If you’re a diabetic or prediabetic, you still don’t need to buy silly glucose spike prevention supplements,

just manage your refined sugars, move after eating and don’t drink your calories.

This matters to all of us because we are all patients.

No matter how much insurance you can afford, our system here means you will need NHS and or social care services at some point and it’s in all our interests to keep working to improve them.

I’d love to know who’s hair brain idea this was in Westminster 😫

She goes on to add that if you have a health condition you need to take about 30 capsules a day.

30 capsules

Per day.

Just eat a salad instead 🤣

Tea Pigs have never paid me.

They’ve never sent me any tea.

I still think their peppermint tea is the best one out there.

That’s the difference between a recommendation and an advert.

What do people who keep weight off actually do differently?

Honestly? Usually not anything dramatic.

Over the years, patients who’ve maintained significant weight loss have tended to describe one or two sustainable changes that quietly became part of normal life.

Less alcohol.
Different routines.
Smaller portions.
Fewer “little extras” that had slowly crept in.

One thing that worked for me personally was stopping eating cake and random crap at work just because it happened to be there.

NHS workplaces are basically an endurance event for snack exposure.

No hacks.
No detox tea.
Just habits people could repeat on ordinary Tuesdays.

A sauna may have benefits.

But “like doing a workout” is how wellness marketing keeps confusing people.

Your body still needs movement.
Not just heat.
Not just sweat.
Not just vibes.

Get the work done, get on with your day 💪🏻
