Sign & Rhyme Fun and playful baby and toddler signing and singing groups with songs, musical instruments and stories to develop early interactive skills Hello – I’m Marie.

My experience as a speech and language therapy assistant, coupled with my signing skills (British Sign Language Stage 2), sparked my enthusiasm for baby signing. I’ve been teaching baby signing for some time now, and I can appreciate the benefits for both you and your child: it’s a fun and rewarding way to make the most of your baby’s natural ability to communicate; it encourages and supports their language development - you will always use signs together with the spoken word - giving them a head start when they begin to use their vocabulary, spelling and reading skills; and it strengthens the bond between you and your child.

🥰 Babies can understand so much before they actually talk, and baby signing enables them to communicate their emotions and needs effectively. Your ability to understand these needs through simple signs gives you the confidence to respond appropriately and helps to reduce frustration for you and your baby. The learning process is great fun, too and the classes are relaxed and friendly. 🥰 Weekly ‘Song in a Bag’ sessions. Age range birth to five years - £5 per session or £22.00 for five weeks (please note there are no refunds given for missed sessions if you pay in five week blocks.) Lots of fun for you and your little ones. Interactive session of signing and singing, musical instruments and so much more for you all to enjoy.


🥰 Five-week baby signing course to include handouts, £40, payable in advance. Age range 6months to twelve months. Learn specific signs to use with your baby in their daily routine. Lots of fun for you and your baby, a very interactive session for you all to enjoy.

🥰 Our Sign & Rhymers were ready for our Row, Row, Row Your Boat song before we even started singing! One of the boys began rocking backwards and forwards as soon as he saw the boat 🛳️. By simply showing the boat and saying "boat", he instantly understood it was time for our Row, Row, Row Your Boat song. Well done! 🥳

🥰 It was so lovely to see two of our girls taking turns to complete a number jigsaw. Fantastic teamwork from Nora and Isla. Well done, girls! 🥳

🥁 Thank you, Oliver, for taking the drum over to Alfie when it was his turn. 🥳

🚒 I think Rory was very excited to see the fire engine in our sound box. We loved seeing his big smiles! You all did a brilliant job making your fire engine sounds too. Well done, everyone! 🥳

Making symbolic sounds such as moo 🐄, meow 🐱, baa 🐑
brumm brumm 🚕, nee naw 🚒 , sss 🐍 and oo oo 🐒 etc helps children practise using their tongue, mouth and lips to produce sounds. These are important foundations for speech development as children become ready to use words and language.

The children at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth suggested some wonderful words for our action song this morning: "Twirly Whirlies", "Twizzles", "Round & Round" and "Spinning". We thought they were fantastic choices! 🕺💃🕺💃 Well done, everyone! 🥳

You were also brilliant during story time with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 📚🐻 You sat beautifully as you named all the animals and identified their colours. 🥳

Our sound box was passed around, and you all did brilliantly at making our fire engine sound. 🚒📢 It was absolutely A-MAZ-ING! 🥰 We loved hearing everyone join in. Well done, everyone! ⭐

I hope you have a lovely Half Term and I shall look forward to seeing you all again soon.

What a wet, dark, miserable morning... but not at Sign & Rhyme! ☔️Our lovely families always bring smiles and lots of enthusiasm, whatever the weather! 🥰 Thank you all for coming along 🥰

A huge welcome to our new family today! 🤩 It was so lovely meeting you both. We hope you had lots of fun and enjoyed your first session. Looking forward to seeing you both again next week.😍

I absolutely loved watching you all hide your tongues behind your teeth as we practised being hissing snakes! 🐍 Sssss-super job, everyone! 😁👏

Our story today was Goodnight Lion 🦁, and what fantastic animal detectives you were! 🔦 👀 Finding all the animals with the torch was so much fun, and seeing them light up in the dark made the story even more magical. 🐘 🦛 🦍 🦁 🦓 .

Enjoy splashing in the puddles today 🤣.

Fun Friday at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth this morning🥰

It was so lovely to see you all today, and great to see you singing and signing to our songs 😍 . Well done everyone 🥳

You were super focused with your instruments today - brilliant listening as you kept them quiet while our little bird pecked his way down the pole… and fantastic playing when it reached the bottom 🐦‍⬛🥳

We found a DRUM in our sound box 🥁! Great work tapping your hands on your knees while saying “BANG 🥁, BANG 🥁, BANG!” Such fabulous rhythm.

Our tumbling Autumn leaves 🍁🍂 were a real hit - your excited faces as the leaves fell onto your heads were just gorgeous, and I loved seeing you jumping into them too! Have the best time in the woods this week, jumping in all those crunchy leaves 🍁🍂🍁

Hip hip hooray, it’s a Sign & Rhyme day 🥰
Some of you arrived in the rain 💦 and just seconds later others walked in with glorious sunshine ☀️ - the weather really didn’t know what it was doing today 🤣

This morning was full of early communication skills: sharing, turn‑taking, helping friends, and joining in with singing and signing. Our Grumpy Pirate song encouraged lovely interaction - especially those tickles to make him giggle 🤣

Happy Wednesday everyone🥰. Thank you all for coming along today to Bagworth Community Centre🥰.

It is always lovely to see older siblings helping their younger sisters and cousins😍, and also great to see the older children taking appropriate toys to the very young ones in the group - lovely sharing❤️.

'Walking In The Jungle' - great listening for the animal sounds, and when we sang our 'Down In The Jungle' you were fantastic dancing along with your boogies and wiggles 🤣 - even the adults too🤣.

🫧🫧🫧🫧🫧Bubble time - everyone loves bubbles, and you were brilliant at popping, stamping and touching them as they all came floating down🫧🫧🫧🫧🫧.

🔴🟠🟢Well done to our Traffic Light controllers - Elsie🥳, Isla🥳, Elsie🥳 and Nora🥳, you all did a fantastic job🥳.

Candidates must be under 4ft tall, between the ages 2-5 years old and have a lust for life! They must be messy and energetic and lots of fun!
