☀️ Your SPF Foundation Isn’t Giving You SPF 30 Protection ☀️
One of the biggest misconceptions in skincare is that SPF in foundation, BB cream, tinted moisturiser, or setting powder provides the same protection as a dedicated sunscreen.
It doesn’t.
SPF ratings are tested using a specific amount of product. To achieve the SPF on the label, you’d need to apply around half a teaspoon to your face alone. Most people apply only a fraction of this amount when using makeup.
The result? An SPF 30 foundation may only provide protection closer to SPF 4–6 in real-world use.
This becomes even more important after treatments such as RF microneedling, chemical peels, IPL, and laser procedures, where UV protection is critical to support healing and reduce the risk of pigmentation.
✔️ Apply a dedicated broad-spectrum SPF 30+ or SPF 50 daily.
✔️ Apply it before your makeup.
✔️ Think of SPF-containing makeup as an added bonus, not your primary sun protection.
Your future skin will thank you for it.
