It’s not always easy feeding ourselves with all that soul food that we know we need and ultimately crave. Sometimes we have a bad day and just get in the way of ourselves, it can get messy, we trip up our plans with negative thoughts and self doubt.
Whenever I feel like this I come back to gratitude, because however tough life can feel at times, I can always find the space in my head and heart for being grateful for what I have.
Here are just a few things that can help you come back to your heart and ultimately your wise, wild and free self.
🙏🏻 mindfully prepare, pour and sip a cup of herbal tea. Hawthorn tea is a tincture that will open your heart. Breathe in it’s scent, close your eyes for a few moments. Come back to your breath.
🙏🏻 then simply write, let the gratitude flow onto the page, let the ink stain the page with anything and everything that makes you feel grateful for the life you live. It can be anything from a comfy bed, friends, family, an old postcard that reminds you of a happy moment in time, music, a particular song (play it loud), dance, nature, birdsong, the sun kissing your skin, your job…
It doesn’t matter what you are grateful for, whether your list is plentiful or if it is just one thing . Positivity in any form feels good in our bodies, it gives us hope and confidence to move forward.
