Two days and counting to the Wellness Fair at Leyburn Arts & Community Centre - Sat 22nd August from 10am - 2pm ... so its the last meet the therapist post before the big day....
We have two Bowen therapists in attendance - Cara Williams from Melmerby near Ripon and Michelle Wilkinson from Bowen in the Dales in Thornton Rust near Leyburn.
Bowen therapy uses slow, gentle, rolling movements to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself. Resetting and balancing the nervous system and improving the function of the body's systems and organs, enabling the body to rest and repair.
It is subtle, gentle and relaxing and treats many ailments such as joint and muscle pain, arthritis, sports injuries, headaches and migraines, anxiety, digestion issues, back, shoulder and neck pain, insomnia and TMJ (jaw pain) to name just a few, however Bowen therapy treats the whole person not just the condition ..... Cara and Michelle will be offering Bowen taster treatments throughout the day so pop along to see them to book your taster treatment and experience the therapy.
Next we have Charlotte Russell from Wild Roots Herbal Medicine. Charlotte is a qualified medical herbalist and a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. She practices herbal medicine via one to one appointments and has a consultation and herbal dispensary space in Kirkby Malzeard near Ripon.
Herbal medicine seeks to understand not only the immediate health issue or symptoms being experienced but also any underlying or contributing factors, the patients whole history matters along with the patients character and constitution. Herbal medicine can provide support for a vast range of issues, everyday ailments such as coughs, colds or menstrual problems along with complex, chronic or longstanding issues such as migraines, recurrent UTI's, autoimmune conditions, high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia and so much more.
Charlotte will be giving a free talk about Medical Herbalism and will also have an information table throughout the day. She is happy to answer any and all questions about herbal medicine and how it can help you. Her stall will be in the garden and her talk is at 12.15 - 1.15 pm, tickets for her talk will be issued from the cafe on a first come first served basis from 10am when the fair opens.
Wendy Alexandrar trained at the Lakeland College of homeopathy where she studied, homeopathy, essences and nutrition and was encouraged to develop her intuition and the development of her ability to hear and know what others require for healing.
She is passionate about natural medicine and supporting others to live a more fulfilled life, free from the restrictions of sickness of the mind, body and spirit, to enable life to be lived to it's full potential.
Wendy works with individuals via video link or in person in Yorkshire in the UK, Europe and the USA. She also work with groups over Zoom with those interested in spiritual development and vibrational medicines
Then to finish the day off with some movement and energy we have Kirsten Civil from Yorebridge Sports and Leisure delivering a Fitness For all Talk from 1.30 - 2pm, tickets for Kirsten's talk will be issued from the cafe on a first come first served basis from 10am when the fair opens (leg warmers are optional).
