It was great to be at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital last Thursday for their Our Health Day in the Life Centre!🏥

Healthwatch Lancashire, along with other organisations, supported this event for individuals with learning disabilities, where we learnt more about their needs and how they access local and hospital services!

This event was also a great opportunity to catch up with Alison, the Patient Experience and Involvement Lead at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 🤝

David Simister is a support group leader alongside Dave Lovelady, the Deputy Leader, both of whom are living with Myeloma today.

David Simister was diagnosed in 2013, which he described as a "lonely journey."

He didn't meet anyone else with Myeolma for 10 months who understood his journey. After this, he decided to search for support groups in his local area and found that there were only 4 groups, but none covering West Lancs and Merseyside.

So, he set up West Lancashire and Merseyside Myeloma Support Group, and now anyone living with Myeloma can attend, talk to other patients and socialise🩵
