To the mom who hides in the bathroom in an attempt to get a second aloneâwith tears running down your face because youâre all out of energyâI was her today, Iâve been her in the past ,and I will be her in the future.
To the mom whoâs feeling insecure about what she's doingâwondering when this âphaseâ will end, wondering why her baby is screaming nonstop when everyone elseâs baby seems like an angelâIâve been her, and Iâll be her again.
To the mom who would do anything to get a full night's sleep, but doesn't get any help. To the mom whoâs slowly falling apart because sheâs drained.
To the mom whoâs feeling stressed about not getting enough done during the day, then spending the nights stressed about not spending enough time with her kids, Iâm right there with you.
To the mom who feels alone in all this even when sheâs surrounded with people, rememberâyouâre not alone in this. Youâre amazing and youâre rocking motherhood.
Motherhood will change your life. Itâs scary, energy-draining, and lonely at timesâbut it will pass . This will pass because itâs a phase in our lives and when we look back at it, it will probably be a way too short phase.
But while weâre in it, remember to remind yourself that youâre doing a great job. Even on your worst day, youâre greatly loved and no one would do this better than YOU.
Like in this photo, I was crying in the bathroom for all the things above. I was trying to go to the toilet alone, but they couldnât stay away for even a minute. Even though I (in my head) was failing, they love me so much that they couldnât bear to not be with me for one minuteâthatâs how amazing I am to them (and apparently Ludwig who took this photo to remind me of it).
We all have bad days. We all breakdown. Weâre not alone in this. We are mothersâamazing mothers.
