Apparently jewellery isn’t a basic human need. Seems unlikely. 💎😂

Especially when there are gemstones involved…

I make colourful handmade gemstone jewellery using genuine crystals, gemstones and sterling silver from crystal bracelets and chakra jewellery to one-off pieces that are just too pretty to resist.

Because technically we can survive without jewellery.

But where’s the fun in that? ✨

NEW ⚖️Graduated 15 crystal chakra bracelet with sterling silver spacers and clasp. Just finished and I love it BUT. It occurred to me clasps are tricky, especially if you live alone so I’ve decided with our new chain and clasp bracelets going forward I will also offer them as elasticated if you need it.

Small business can adapt and help our customers when the big guys can’t so continue to shop small and give us a share please trying to get the algorithm to like us 🙏🏻😁.

Sons and daughters listen up 🤪 for a few weeks actually I’ve been amending and fine tuning a bracelet for mum not one that shouts mum with names or beads with mum on but one that says thank you with the stone choices and the words in the explanation. It’s called Always there because mums are aren’t they.

My boys are in there 20s but I’m still there if they need me, the gemstone 8 mm beads are traditionally linked to joy, happiness, love strength and more. It’s says we know how you you do for us and we appreciate it, bit deep I know.

It also looks good and applies to grandmas, sisters, god mothers etc. With fire quartz, citrine, rhodonite, dalamatian jasper, Indian agate and chrysocolla it’s complex and a stunning piece of gemstone jewellery.

Ihappy dancing 💃💃💃I posted out my first order of a new bracelet today called night time calm, basically a sleep support bracelet with natural gemstone beads in 8mm.

It means a lot to small business when something new happens so I really did a happy dance

I think the hardest part is trying to find my people.

I know what I want Nova Lore to be. I want to make gemstone jewellery with meaning behind it, genuine stones chosen around an intention, a story or what I want a piece to represent.

But sometimes it’s tough not to question yourself when you see so much incredibly bright, colourful jewellery everywhere.

Natural gemstones don’t always come in those perfect, saturated colours. And when they do, especially in really good quality, the price can be very different.

I’m not going to swap genuine gemstones for dyed beads, glass or resin just to make something brighter. That isn’t what Nova Lore is about.

I think I’m just trying to find the people who care about the same things I do. 💜

People who want their jewellery to be beautiful, yes, but also personal. Meaningful. Something chosen for a reason.

So I’d genuinely love to know…

Why does handmade jewellery cost more? 🫶 Part 1

Last week I spent two full days designing.

Playing with different gemstone combinations, colours, bead sizes, shapes and metals. Making changes, taking things apart and starting again.

After two days, I had two bracelet designs.

One I loved. One still wasn’t quite right. 😅

That’s the part of handmade jewellery you don’t always see. It’s not just the time it takes to make the final bracelet. There are hours of designing, experimenting and getting all the little details right before a finished piece ever makes it onto the website.

I also personally select the gemstones I use, so I know what’s going into each piece.

A little more time, thought and care goes into handmade — and I think that’s part of what makes it special.
