Humans have intuitively followed moon cycles since the dawn of time.
One of the main reasons we procrastinate is that we are unaware of our bodies' natural ebb and flow, just as the moon waxes and wanes. Humans are wired to want to control every aspect of their lives, resisting the natural 'rest' mode, which often results in burnout.
If you are unaware that your body moves with the natural cycles, you might wonder what is wrong with you—why one moment you're full of energy. The next you're sprawled on the sofa with zero motivation, procrastinating your life away or visiting doctors. I recognised my recurring pattern of doctor’s appointments that often revealed nothing wrong, making me think I was a hypochondriac.
I have been journaling for the past 8 years, I have gained a much deeper understanding of myself, along with greater clarity and self-awareness, helping me recognise behavioural patterns and notice when they arise.
I began aligning my life with the moon cycles, learning to surrender and relinquish control. The results have been remarkable:
🌼 Better management of my autism and ADHD
🌼 Greater inner peace
🌼 Easier manifestation
🌼 A more relaxed mind
🌼 Improved sleep quality
🌼 Increased motivation
🌼 No more procrastination.
Here’s how you can do it:
The new moon phase is for setting intentions, planting the seeds of your life. Each new moon, prepare yourself to set an intention, whether it’s a new hobby, a business venture, or something small like drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Dream big!
Next is the waxing moon phase, a time for taking inspired action. During this period, your energy levels will be high, and you’ll likely feel most productive and creative.
As the moon reaches the full moon, you may feel a sense of gratitude. As it wanes, you might notice your energy declining; you could experience emotional release, crying often, or needing to urinate more than usual, as the waning moon encourages release. Foods might feel heavy on your stomach, and you may prefer light meals.
The challenge is that during the waning phase, many resist this natural cycle, making things feel more stressful. It is a time for rest, reflection, and letting go.
Use the waning moon to release what no longer serves you, such as bad habits. Clearing out baggage during this period creates space for new, positive experiences in the next cycle.
Trust the universe—that’s the key!
Focusing on your inner self during the waning moon allows the universe to work behind the scenes, bringing you the results of your efforts during the waxing phase.
If you're running a business, plan your setup at the new moon, take action during the waxing moon, and launch or release at the full moon. For writers, it’s best to write during the waxing moon and edit during the waning.
Summary of phases:
-New moon: set goals and intentions
-Waxing moon: take inspired, not forced, actions
-Full moon: celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and practice gratitude—this shifts your mindset from 'lack' to 'abundance' and accelerates manifestation.
-Waning moon: release, let go, reflect on what has happened since the new moon, and adjust as needed.
Remember:
You are a human "being," not just a human "doing."
Learn to be present, relax, and embrace the natural flow of life.
