Meningitis B is a rare but serious infection that can lead to meningitis and blood poisoning (septicaemia). It can become life-threatening very quickly, so vaccination is one of the best ways to protect yourself.
You may be eligible for a FREE NHS MenB vaccine if you:
✅ Were born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008 (Year 13 age group)
OR
✅ Were born on or after 21 July 2001 and are starting university for the first time this autumn
OR
✅ Were born on or after 21 July 2001 and are starting a residential further education college for the first time this autumn.
The vaccine is given as 2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart, so it's best to get your first dose as soon as possible before the new academic year begins.
