FLOW IN THE FOREST 2026 — UPDATE NUMBER 3

We’ve had a small but positive update from the loss adjuster handling our insurance claim.

They are currently preparing the statement for our claim and have requested a few additional pieces of information from us. They have advised that we should hear something further by the end of next week.

At the moment, we have more ticket holders requesting refunds than we have funds available to process those refunds.

This means that, unfortunately, we are not currently in a position to begin the refund process. We feel it would be unfair to process refunds for some people while being unable to do the same for others, so we are waiting for the insurance process to progress before beginning refunds.

2027 tickets

Later this evening, those of you who have kindly chosen to roll your 2026 ticket over to Flow in the Forest 2027 will begin receiving your new 2027 tickets.

We genuinely cannot express enough how much your support means to us.

From everyone working on Flow in the Forest, thank you. Your decision to carry your ticket forward has given us a huge amount of encouragement while we work through what has been an incredibly difficult period for the event.

What happens next?

Based on the latest information we’ve received, we are asking everyone for a little more patience and understanding while we navigate a process that is new to everyone involved in running the event.

We will update you through our various communication channels as soon as we have a substantial update.

If we still haven’t received a further decision or meaningful update by the end of next week, we will let you know that we haven’t heard anything further and will provide an update on our plan to follow up on the claim again the following Monday.

We don’t want people left wondering whether anything is happening behind the scenes - even when there isn’t new information to share, we’ll do our best to keep you informed.

❤️ We’re sorry this is taking so long

We can only apologise for the amount of time this process is taking.

We began the insurance process before making our original announcement that we had to cancel this year’s event, and at that point we had hoped we would have progressed considerably further by now. Unfortunately, this next stage isn’t something we can control.

We have worked as quickly as we can to compile and provide the additional information requested by the loss adjuster, and we are now waiting for the process to move forward.

Like all of you, we desperately want this concluded so that we can establish exactly where we stand, deal with the outstanding matters from 2026 and, with certainty, draw a line underneath this year’s event.

Looking towards 2027

There is already a backlog of people who have contacted us about getting involved with Flow in the Forest 2027 - including volunteers, performers and stallholders.

While we await the outcome of the insurance process, we’ll also be working on updating the website over the coming week or so, ready for the next stage.

We know this has been frustrating, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has continued to be patient and supportive.

Thank you for bearing with us.

From all of us at Flow in the Forest ❤️

FLOW IN THE FOREST UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch, and thank you for your patience while we work through everything following the cancellation of this year’s festival.

A small gathering this weekend

We are holding a small gathering this weekend, with people able to arrive from 2pm onwards to set up, this is is Essex near Frinton-On-Sea, and you are welcome to stay until Sunday evening, or Monday morning 11am at the latest.

Spaces are limited to 35, but if you would like to come along please text 07742 854999 for more information. If you would like to come and play but would prefer to camp near somewhere else we would recommend getting in touch with us via the number above, so we can direct you to a campsite nearby.

We have access to a decent-sized woodland, with camping space around the outside and in a small clearing towards the edges of the site. There is also a beach within a short walk, which you’ll be able to explore.

There are limited spaces for campers and cars, but the train station is around a five-minute walk from the site. If you need a lift from the station, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Please be aware that this is a very simple gathering and not a replacement for the full Flow in the Forest festival. There is one toilet on site, but amenities are limited, and you will need to bring your own food and drink.

There will be access to some stoves and cooking equipment, as well as limited lighting.

Flow in the Forest 2027

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already been in touch to tell us that they would like to roll their 2026 ticket over to next year’s Flow in the Forest, which we are planning to hold at Bradmoor Woods from 16–20 September 2027.

We are currently working on winding down Flow in the Forest 2026 and will be taking a short break once we have dealt with the immediate administration from this year.

After that, we’ll begin working on the 2027 licence application, with the aim of getting this underway as early as possible.

We know that returning in 2027 will require some additional planning. We genuinely believe we have a strong plan for mitigating the issues we encountered this year, and we are also very open to working with the local community to make sure those plans are as robust as possible.

Once we have the necessary arrangements and licensing in place, we’ll communicate more information with you.

Ultimately, we want to shape Flow in the Forest around the people who attend it, the community around it, and the needs of everyone involved. We want to earn and maintain your confidence moving forward.

Tickets, refunds & the insurance claim

The insurance process does not look like it will be a quick one. The insurers have requested information from us, which we have provided, and they will contact us if they require anything further.

At this stage, we have not been given a timescale and we do not yet know whether the claim will be accepted.

Thankfully, almost all of our suppliers and bookings have very kindly agreed to roll their deposits over to 2027 at Bradmoor Woods, which we are incredibly grateful for.

We completely understand, however, that not everyone will want to roll their ticket over, so we need to hear from every 2026 ticket holder about what you would prefer.

Please complete the short form below and let us know whether you would like to:

🌿 Roll your 2026 ticket over to Flow in the Forest 2027

or

💚 Request a refund

Ticket preference form:
https://forms.gle/87tZHsf3YcXvSoxF9

All you need is your order number, which can be found on the email confirming your ticket purchase. This will have been sent within 24 hours of purchasing your ticket and will have come from: [email protected]

If you can’t find your order number, please still complete the form and we’ll get in touch with you.

We have to transfer every ticket manually, so this will take a significant amount of time. We currently have more than 100 orders to process and a small, volunteer admin team, so please bear with us while we work through them.

Want to help?

If you’d like to become more involved with Flow in the Forest and help us shape the event going forward, there is also an option on the form to let us know that you’d like to join the team.

We’ll then get in touch with you.

We are genuinely heartbroken that Flow in the Forest 2026 won’t be going ahead in the way we had planned. We know how much people were looking forward to it, and we are incredibly grateful for the patience, kindness and support so many of you have shown us.

There will be more information once the insurance process has progressed and we have a clearer picture of where things stand.

For now, thank you for sticking with us.

The woodland gathering itself will be completely free of charge and is simply an optional opportunity for members of the community who still want to come together.

To everyone who bought a ticket, volunteered, offered a workshop, agreed to perform, trade, work, provide equipment or simply supported what we were trying to create: thank you.

Flow in the Forest has always been a grassroots community event rather than a large corporate festival, and an enormous amount of hard work, generosity, passion and trust has gone into getting us this far.

We are devastated that the event we planned will not be happening this September, but we are also incredibly grateful that so many of our suppliers and supporters have helped make it possible for us to carry so much of that work forward into next year.

We now have the opportunity to put our energy into building something stronger at Bradmoor Woods in 2027.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.We’re gutted not to be seeing you at Flow in the Forest this September, but we’re looking forward to seeing many of you in Essex in a couple of weeks, and bringing Flow in the Forest back properly at Bradmoor Woods in 2027. ❤️🔥🌲

Flow in the Forest 2026 - Important Update

It's with a heavy heart that we are really sorry to announce that Flow in the Forest will not be able to proceed this September at Waldringfield, Near Woodbridge.

Due to the exceptionally dry conditions over the course of this summer, the continued Government’s wildfire warning and the continuing persistent wildfire risk associated with running fire activities in East Suffolk, we cannot responsibly proceed with the event in its intended form while meeting the necessary safety, insurance and licensing requirements.

Fire is fundamental to Flow in the Forest, and removing it would materially change the event people booked to attend.

The good news is that this is absolutely not the end.

We have already secured Bradmoor Wood for Flow in the Forest 2027, and hopefully beyond. All 2026 tickets can be transferred in full to next year. We would be enormously grateful to anyone happy to roll their ticket over.

With the event so close, a lot of money has already been outlaid on venues, contractors, infrastructure and other services. We’ve been incredibly lucky that a number of our suppliers have offered to roll bookings and deposits over into 2027 rather than us losing them completely.

We also want to say a huge thank you to the tutors, performers, traders, bands, suppliers and others who have already chosen to stick with us and come back next year. That support means a lot and puts us in a much stronger position for 2027.

However, anyone who would prefer a refund will be entitled to request one. We are currently working closely with our insurers on the practical arrangements and will publish the refund process as soon as it is finalised. Please hold off sending individual refund requests just yet so we can manage them consistently and no body gets missed.

We have also very kindly been offered a small woodland in Essex where around 35 existing ticket holders only can gather over the weekend.

This is completely free and is not a replacement for the festival: there will be no live stages or organised fire space, but there will be woodland, LED spinning, friends and a quiet beach nearby. There is also a campsite across the road for those who want to come along but do not currently hold a ticket for Flow in the Forest.

More details about this will follow over the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and continues to support us. It really means a lot to all of us.

We’re gutted not to be seeing you at Flow in the Forest this September, but we’re looking forward to seeing many of you in Essex in a couple of weeks, and bringing Flow in the Forest back properly at Bradmoor Woods in 2027. ❤️🔥🌲

Important Announcement:

Flow in the Forest is currently planned to go ahead as scheduled. Given the exceptionally dry conditions this summer, we are carrying out additional site and fire-safety assessments to make sure the venue remains suitable for the event, working closely with the local authority licensing, environmental protection, local police and county council fire services.

We have another site inspection on Monday and are continuing to monitor the weather and ground conditions closely. Safety of our community and care of the venue come first, and we will update everyone promptly if anything changes.

Until this assessment has been completed early next week, we will not be actively promoting on social media, but there is lots of information already on our website.

Flow in the Forest 2025 — our review is here!

So way back, in December and January we released our feedback forms and have spent time as a team reflecting on what went well, what didn't work out how we expected and ways to improve.

When we set out to build Flow in the Forest, we promised a community gathering for fire and flow arts built on learning, creativity and care. The first year showed us the heart of that is real, and it also showed us, very clearly, where we have work to do.

We've now published our full public review and learning report. It's not a highlight reel. It includes the things people loved and the things that frustrated them, in their own words, alongside every number from the feedback forms.

We've been honest about what didn't work: programme and timetable communication, accessible toilets, the visibility of our medical and welfare provision, fire-space systems, and how much rested on too few people.

We've also set out exactly what we're changing for next time.

To everyone who shared feedback, good and hard to hear: thank you. It's how this gets better. We've taken a lot of time reading all of it, and re-reading it again and our door stays open.

🔥 Trader applications are now open for Flow in the Forest 2026 🔥

We’re looking for independent traders, makers, artists and small creative businesses to join our trading area this September.

We’d love to hear from people selling things like handmade clothing, upcycled festival wear, jewellery, props, art, crafts, wellbeing items, accessories, beautiful oddities, practical festival bits, and anything that feels connected to the world of flow, fire, circus, creativity and community.

Flow in the Forest is not a normal festival marketplace. We’re a grassroots participatory event built around workshops, performances, skill-sharing, fire practice, music, creativity and shared experience. We want the trading area to feel like part of that world — playful, thoughtful, useful, colourful and full of personality.

Pitches are curated, and we’re keeping the trading area small enough that it feels special rather than overcrowded.

If this sounds like the right place for your stall, apply here:
