Last week, Suzy and Heather attended the launch of a new prediabetes project at The Workspace Group Community Hub in Draperstown. This work is delivered in partnership with Draperstown GP Surgery, O'Kane's Pharmacy Draperstown, Screen Clinical and Northern Health and Social Care Trust.

Th session provided information to people living with or at risk of diabetes alongside their family and carers as well as launching the new project which will identify those at risk in the local area and offer them point of care testing at the local pharmacy, further information and support depending on their circumstances.

We are excited to be a part of this project and look forward to engaging over the coming months.

Congratulations to the Diabetes Eye Screening Programme NI on their recent win at the NI healthcare Awards.

They won for Excellence In Ophthalmology ๐Ÿ‘ (Sponsored by Scope Eyecare)

This is a vital programme for those at risk of diabetic retinopathy. Eye screening can detect changes to the retina โ€“ it is a treatable condition when detected early.

Well done to the team and to those who show up for people living with diabetes and at risk of diabetic retinopathy ๐Ÿ’™
