Not perfect by any means but…

This is the 2nd time I’ve used acrylic in the past 2 years! The cuticle area isn’t great because… well… silicone cuticles tend to move when touched… will soon be practicing on real humans!

Always room for improvement… just excuse the gel Polish application… I used older polishes because I don’t want to waste my best ones on practice hands! (We’ll ignore the fact I used my best acrylic).

Ill keep on practicing, but I don’t think it will be long before I’ve cracked this medium too!

Throwback to some previous sets - these were done either last year or this year… I can definitely see the improvements!

I also want to put it out there that I’m sure many nail techs with more practice/who have been in the game a lot longer can whip out sets in a short time - however, I’m relatively new and I prefer and always choose quality over speed.
I do my best and although sometimes it takes a while, I take pride in knowing that by taking longer, I’m giving my clients my best work.
This isn’t to say other techs aren’t great at what they do, as I’m absolutely sure their work is amazing too, however, I just wanted to let you all know 1) my work takes longer than most, but that 2) this way I’m giving you the best I can give, and I’m sure you’ll be satisfied!

Here are the edited photos of my current set... I was rather excited to share them yesterday, that I posted them whilst I was at work, and without editing them first - it's surprising how much better they look after being edited.

I started this set with a bunch of autumnal colours, laid the base colour down and went from there... and this is what happened...

Sunday/Monday (8th/9th October - I’m unsure which day) will be 3 weeks wearing this set of overlays - builder gel with a single colour gel polish… this is THE longest I’ve left my nails between services - I used to do overlays/extensions on them every week (🤯👀🤣), but since investing in better quality products, I’m delighted to announce the average retention for myself and clients is 2-2.5 weeks so far (one client chewed hers off after 2.5 weeks 👀 (I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to avoid redoing them but I’m trying hard!! - I haven’t touched my cuticles either, and I used to do them every 2-3 days due to growth… but the growth is hidden since I’ve not touched my cuticles… I’ll do cuticle work before removing the product when I do get round to doing my nails, and I’ll photograph the processes.
