A practical study day! Today was a botany revision day but I swapped the desk for a walk around heligan and it was very much needed. The end of year 2 is in sight and final exams and assignments are looming. I am so ready for this year of study to be over and for the summer to begin. To say year 2 has been rough is an understatement. I am beyond exhausted and am ready to spend my days sitting in the garden rather than sitting at my desk 🌿

It's been a minute πŸ˜…
Since putting a pause on teaching classes back in March last year, little pockets of kitchen yoga have become a thing!
It's amazing what changes can happen in the body over a few months when you go from practicing yoga to doing nothing but weight training and sitting for huge chunks of time during the day.
I said to myself I would go to a yoga class once a week....with after school clubs every night mid week and monthly assignments, clinic hours and a little house renovation I am yet to make it to a yoga class πŸ˜†

I think pausing classes whilst navigating workload during my second year of my medical herbalist training was the best thing I could have possibly have done for my sanity. Stretched has a whole new meaning. I am still here though, as busy as ever, and with a new name.

I'm excited for Mist & Mallow Wellness and the possibilities that lay ahead, the blending together of herbal medicine and future yoga workshops πŸ‘€

Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who came to the final class on Monday. It really did mean so much to have a room full of lovely faces.
Over the years I have met the most wonderful people, made many friends through yoga and I have learnt so much along the way. Thank you to everyone who has shown me love, kindness and support over the years.

With exams looming I am ready to deep dive into the herbal medicine world and learn as much as I can. I believe in my core that there are sometimes other ways, better ways to care for our bodies, using what the earth provides rather than popping pills all the time and enduring nasty side effects. I do believe that there is a place for both herbal medicine and pharmaceuticals to exist together. For anyone who wants to join me on my journey you can via I will be running workshops and Herb walks as a way to practice and study so please drop me a message if you want in on these! I have another long 3 years ahead but I am excited and ready 🀩

It's a goodbye for now, not forever ❀️

Lots of love,
Christina

A very Merry Christmas from my home to yours!

Thank you all so much for all the love and support throughout this past year. I know there have been a lot of changes and I appreciate your patience and understanding, but I do feel I finally have the balance right! What a ride the past 3 years have been! I want to say a huge thank you to each and everyone of you that has supported me over the past 3 years, weather that was by coming to classes or liking, sharing, commenting on posts and for recommending me to friends. It really has meant so much. Tonight I turned off the fairy lights for the final time at Sukha Shala yoga studio above the bookshop. This space has served me well over the last 3 years. It was transformed from a dull office space to a beautiful studio space and has welcomed people from all over to join one of our classes.

I hope you felt welcomed and safe when you walked through the door. I hope it felt like joining a community because that's exactly how I wanted it to feel!

It is time for me to take a break. I am feeling excited. I am looking forward to being home in the evenings whilst my (not so) babies make the transition from nursery to school. They were 14 months old when I opened this space and now they are 4 🀯

It is time for me to step back from the studio and let someone take over running it, and I am so happy and excited for them and their journey with this space. I will be back teaching in this room after the October half term, the space will no longer be known as Sukha Shala, but I (this page will be). I was Sukha Shala long before having my own space and I will continue to be know as that. Sukha means happiness, and that's why I teach, to try and help other find/feel happy whatever that might look like.

I will share what I get up to during my break. Keep in touch and see you in November.

Love, Christina x

Last nights assistant!
Toby dog loved coming to classes last night, I think it is fair to say it was the best day of his life with all the attention he was getting.

At the end of August I will be taking an extended break from teaching. When I return (after the October half term) classes will be switching to term time only. With Albert and Florence starting school in September I feel like this will work better for us as a family.
Class passes will be a thing of the past and you can either pay as a drop in or book for the whole term at a discounted price.
I am hoping to have the first term loaded by the end of this month so keep an eye on the booking page! Any questions please ask.

Have a lovely week!
Love,
Christina and Toby dog πŸ•
