For people living with diabetes, attending regular diabetic eye screening appointments is especially important. The Diabetic Eye Screening Programme helps detect diabetic retinopathy at an early stage, reducing the risk of vision loss and supporting timely treatment when needed. Attending your screening appointment is one of the most effective ways to protect your sight.

If you're living with diabetes it's important that you attend your eye screening appointments 👀

While it's different to a regular sight test at the opticians, it can spot changes in your eyes before you notice any symptoms or changes to your vision, including early signs of diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetes health checks are part of your routine NHS treatment. There are 9 checks, and eye screening is one of them ✅
