There are 16 weeks left until New Year and after a discombobulated year, I want to end it with consistency and strength.
I made the decision to wake up & go for a walk early. I only had 45 minutes so I walked pretty fast and stopped off along the way to buy some fruit. This means by 8:45 am I'd already done 3k steps and had some daylight to help regulate melatonin. Usually I'd walk in the late afternoon or on the treadmill in the dark at night but I wanted to get out of the house.
Breakfast is homemade muesli with oats, hazelnuts, almonds,, sunflower, pumpkin & h**p seeds, linseed & chia seeds, raisins, a LIDL 25g protein yoghurt with mango, blueberries, strawberries & frozen cherry. This increases my plant variety & gives me 4 servings of fruit. This is my normal breakfast but this morning I'd already eaten it by 9 am whereas usually I'd wait until I was hungry.
I don't believe in new year's resolutions because I think waiting to make better choices promotes unsustainability in the way we think about health and change. Make a little change today and see it out to the New Year, that way you don't have to even think about it next year.
