Apart from being a full time ayurvedic practitioner, she also works as a part time lec

turer in Herbal Medicine, College of Naturopathic Medicine, Manchester. Ayurveda, meaning “the science of life” is a healing system. The main aim of an ayurvedic practitioner is to balance the equilibrium of three bio-energies called ‘Thri Doshas’ which run throughout the body. According to this holistic healing therapy, when ‘Thri doshas’ are in balance body is healthy and when they are in imbalance, our body is in discomfort or dis-ease. So, the role of an ayurvedic practitioner is to help with regaining of the equilibrium which would subsequently reduce pain or any discomfort and help you in your journey towards wellness. During the initial consultation lasting an hour or longer, the practitioner listens and analyses your detailed case history, diet, lifestyle, mental and emotional states. You may also be asked to have pulse and tongue or other forms of relevant body examinations. After that the practitioner will create a tailor made programme to treat your symptoms, restore balance in the body and improve health. This may vary from a talking therapy, herbal supplements or physical treatments. Looking forward to serve you. Kind regards

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder :
When I looked through my kitchen window I could see was an ocean of dandelions, shining in the sun, but all my other family members could see was the untidy garden lawn . While the dandelion is a w**d from their points of view, I saw past the uncut lawn, I saw flowers that could become teas and leaves that could become salad.

I could see the gift of nature in the form of a plant that has digestive alternative, cholagogue, and galactagogue actions depending on the part of the plant we select (e.g. the root, leaves etc.). I saw the diuretic leaves and their importance in lymphatic congestion, and the roots which are good for the skin and arthritis .
The plant’s role in treating urinary tract infection, skin diseases and liver and gallbladder problems, and its importance in pachaka and ranchaka pitta balancing came to mind, but so did its potential to aggravate the vata dosha .
In it, I could picture hope, strength and transformation, and a symbol of emotional healing. It reminds me of my childhood: searching for the white fluffy spores , blowing and enthusiastically watching them flying away . I could think of the crucial role of pollinators like bees - our source of honey .

It also reminds me of the Ayurvedic quote “Jagatyevam anoushadham” “जगत्येवम् अनौषधम् ।”
saying “there is nothing in the world without medicinal value”.

It was amazing to see how connected we are to the nature, but unfortunately we are forgetting many of these interconnected - health and wellness factors knowingly or unknowingly. 👫🌿🌳🌼🐝🐝
