Traditional Chinese Medicine will change your life ♥️

Today’s tips

Easy bruising = Spleen not holding blood. Strengthen digestion by prioritizing warm foods.

- Brain fog = damp + poor circulation. Move + sip hot water. Game changer.

- Chest tightness = Qi stagnation. Open + breathe deeply for 5 minutes.

- Low appetite = weak digestive fire. Start with warm, simple breakfast foods.

- Feeling inflamed = excess heat. Add cooling foods like chrysanthemum (tea available from Amazon)

- Book a consult and treatment at Ashi Therapies

🌿 Breathe Your Way Back to Calm 🌿
from Ashi Therapies

Did you know that the nostril you breathe through can influence how your nervous system responds? ✨

👃 The LEFT nostril is connected with the parasympathetic nervous system — often called the “rest and digest” side of the body. This system helps slow the heart rate, relax the mind, reduce stress, and bring a sense of calm.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, tense, or unable to switch off, try this simple breathing practice:

🌸 Left Nostril Breathing for Relaxation

Sit comfortably and soften your shoulders
Gently cover your RIGHT nostril with your thumb
Slowly breathe in and out through your LEFT nostril only
Continue for 1–3 minutes, breathing gently and naturally

✨ This can help:

• Calm the nervous system
• Ease stress and anxiety
• Lower tension
• Encourage relaxation and better sleep
• Create a feeling of grounding and balance

⚡ On the other hand…

👃 The RIGHT nostril is linked to the sympathetic nervous system — the body’s “fight or flight” response. Breathing through the right nostril can help increase alertness, focus, motivation, and energy.

☀️ If you’re feeling sluggish, tired, or foggy:

• Gently cover the LEFT nostril
• Breathe through the RIGHT nostril for a minute or two
• Notice how it may help awaken and energise the body

Our breath is one of the simplest tools we have to support both body and mind 💛

🌿 Give it a try today and notice how you feel afterwards.

☀️ Has the hot weather made you feel uncomfortable with your weight?

When the sun comes out and we start wearing lighter clothes, it’s so easy to become self-conscious or overly critical of ourselves. But this is your reminder to be kind to yourself 💛

You don’t need to wait for the “perfect time” to start feeling healthier, more confident, and more comfortable in your body. Why not begin your weight loss journey now — with gentle, natural support from acupuncture at Ashi Therapies ✨

Acupuncture can help support weight loss by:

🌿 Reducing cravings and emotional eating
🌿 Supporting digestion and metabolism
🌿 Helping manage stress and anxiety
🌿 Improving energy levels and sleep
🌿 Encouraging balance within the body

Weekly acupuncture sessions can be a wonderful way to stay supported, motivated, and balanced throughout your weight loss journey.

Small consistent steps really do add up 💫

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), some helpful tips for healthy weight management include:

🥗 Eating warm, nourishing meals instead of skipping meals
💧 Drinking plenty of warm water and reducing iced drinks
🍚 Avoiding excess sugar, processed foods, and late-night snacking
🚶‍♀️ Moving your body gently and consistently
😌 Managing stress, as emotional imbalance can affect digestion and cravings

This journey is not about punishment — it’s about feeling good, creating balance, and caring for yourself in a sustainable way 🌸

If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d love to support you.

Acupuncture can be extremely supportive for managing seasonal allergy symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes, throat, and ears, watery eyes, and sinus pressure. 🤧

If your allergies usually persist throughout the season, we recommend regular visits (weekly or bi-weekly) to keep symptoms at bay.

☀️ BANK HOLIDAY HEATWAVE ALERT ☀️

This Bank Holiday weekend is going to be a HOT one 🔥

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, excessive heat can throw the body out of balance — especially the Heart and fluids. When we overheat, we may experience:

❤️ Irritability or restlessness
💤 Poor sleep
🥵 Fatigue or burnout
💧 Dehydration
🤯 Headaches or dizziness
🌡️ Feeling emotionally “frazzled”

In TCM, summer is linked to the Fire element, and while warmth helps us feel energised and social, too much heat can deplete Yin and body fluids.

Here are some gentle ways to stay balanced in the heat:

🥒 Eat cooling foods
Think cucumber, watermelon, mint, leafy greens and citrus.

💧 Sip fluids regularly
Room temperature or herbal teas are kinder to digestion than ice-cold drinks.

🌿 Slow your pace
Avoid overexertion during the hottest part of the day.

😴 Prioritise rest
Heat can quietly drain your energy reserves.

👐 Book in for therapy
An Ashi Therapies treatment can help regulate the nervous system and support circulation during periods of heat and stress.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and listen to what your body needs this weekend ☀️
