💛 A little update on Holly 💛

We thought it was time for an update on where things are up to.

The positive news is that the infection in Holly’s central line has now completely cleared and her antibiotics for this have finished. Following her bronchoscopy, no bacterial infection was found in her lungs. However, it did confirm that Holly has a fungal lung infection, so she is continuing on IV antifungal medication. Thankfully, the infection is showing signs of improvement.

Another big milestone was last night being the first night Holly hasn’t needed any oxygen support, which we were so pleased about. She is still requiring regular IV paracetamol to help manage her temperatures, but the spikes are becoming less frequent.

The photo with this post is from today, when Holly was feeling well enough to spend some time in the ward play room. Seeing her out of her room and enjoying herself, even for a little while, was a lovely reminder of the happy, playful little girl she is. 🥹💛

We are hopeful that this improvement will continue and that Holly will be well enough to come home this week, where she can recover in the comfort of her own surroundings.

Unfortunately, there has also been a setback. Holly’s second round of chemotherapy was due to start yesterday, but this has had to be delayed. The infections have made her very unwell and her blood counts have not yet recovered enough for treatment to go ahead safely. At the moment, chemotherapy has been postponed for at least a week while her body has more time to recover.

As always, thank you for every message, share, donation and fundraiser. Your support means the world to us and helps us continue to give Holly hope. 💛

💛 Why we are fundraising for Holly 💛

Did you know that only around 2% of cancer research funding in the UK is dedicated to childhood cancer?

This means that many children are still treated with therapies that were originally developed for adults or adapted from adult treatments, often with significant side effects.

That is one of the reasons we have started Give Holly Hope.

We are fundraising to help give Holly access to potential future treatments and clinical trials that may not be available on the NHS or within the UK, ensuring every possible option is available to her.

Every share, donation and conversation helps us raise awareness and move one step closer to giving Holly every chance she deserves.

Thank you for standing with us and helping us give Holly hope. 💛

Cancer treatments designed for adults are being given to young people. For bodies that are still growing and developing.

Just 2% of funding goes towards paediatric cancer research, so kids like Kaiden are receiving treatments that weren’t made for their bodies.

A little bit of normality 💛✨

After being stuck in her hospital room for the last few days, Holly was finally allowed a trip to her favourite £1 toy machines yesterday.

The nurses managed to find a small break between her IV medications and kindly came along with Holly to keep her safe while she ventured downstairs.

It might seem like a simple thing, but seeing Holly out of her room, full of excitement and smiling from ear to ear was so special. She came back with 3 new toys and enough energy and happiness to light up the whole ward 🥹💛

Moments like these remind us just how important the little things are. For a short while, Holly got to forget about infections, antibiotics and hospital stays and simply enjoy being a 5-year-old little girl.

Thank you to the wonderful nurses who helped make it happen 💛

Sometimes the best medicine is laughter 💛😂

Today Grandma accidentally spilled her water bottle and Holly found the whole thing absolutely hilarious. The more everyone laughed, the more Holly laughed too 🥹

It's been a tough few days and Holly is still feeling poorly, so moments like this are extra special. Hearing her belly laugh and seeing her smile light up the room was exactly what we all needed.

Cancer treatment may have taken Holly's hair, but it hasn't taken her humour, her cheeky personality or that infectious laugh that makes everyone around her smile 💛

Sorry Grandma... but your accident definitely made Holly's day! 😂💦

A little Holly update 💛

Today started with watching Pokémon, followed by a very long afternoon nap 😴

Then Daddy arrived with some of Holly's other Pokémon cuddly toys, which of course meant it was time for a little Pokémon party in her room while watching even more Pokémon! 😂✨

Spot the Holly in the picture... if you can find her amongst all the Pokémon cuddly toys! 👀💛

Holly is still feeling quite unwell, but she seems a little more comfortable today and we're pleased that her infection markers are moving in the right direction.

Today has been a quieter day for Holly 💛

She hasn't been feeling her usual happy self and has been quite unwell, so it's been a day of cuddles, rest and watching her favourite programmes.

Holly is currently having some low-dose oxygen to give her a little extra help with her breathing and make sure she doesn't have to work too hard while her body fights these infections.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all the support, fundraising, donations, messages and kindness that have been shown to Holly and our family. Every single gesture means more than we can put into words.

Please continue to share Holly's page and JustGiving page to help us raise awareness and keep every possible future treatment option open for her.

Thank you for giving Holly hope 💛✨

Holly is a funny, strong-willed little girl who loves Pokémon and Everton FC. Diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma in 2024, Holly relapsed in August 2025. Her family are fundraising to help her access further treatment options if needed.
