A week in work bags, clinic rooms, blue skies and climbing shoes 🙌

Being self-employed means every day looks a little different. Some are spent treating patients, some are spent building the business behind the scenes, and some involve taking my laptop outside because pretending I’m on holiday makes admin slightly more bearable 🥲

I hope you’re having a good week too!

The best weekend of the year (so far!) ✨🫶
Amy and Lauren, you’ve created something absolutely magical for us all 🥹

Words can’t describe the power of women being women together - supported, loved, appreciated, encouraged, held, heard, and seen (to name a few!) ♥️ Forever grateful to the women I get to share this experience with every year 🙌

If you don’t know, get to know! Until next time..

Don’t let the diagnosis scare you! 🔥❤️

Inflammation is the first stage of healing - it’s a vital process for our bodies.

When we have an ‘inflammatory condition’, just think of it like your body is stuck in that little inflammation loop, and needs a bit of help getting to the next stage (proliferation)🔁

Things you can do to help:
- Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation (RICE Protocol)
- Avoid high impact to the area of pain (e.g. running, hitting with racket, boxing etc)
- Individualised rehab is essential - there’s no ‘one size fits all’ protocol with each condition.

Things to remember:
- Our MSK system rehydrates overnight. This means the pain is usually worse in the morning, so get moving (gently) to lubricate and flush everything out.
- Summer is warm (if we’re lucky!), so adding fire to fire will always feel much worse.
- These are the main injuries I treat June-August - treatment can calm down the area and provide a lot of pain relief, but see it as a recovery method (not a quick fix!)

Any questions or worries, you know where to reach me 🙌❤️

Quiet mornings are sacred to me, especially when I’m feeling overwhelmed ☕️📚

If your nervous system is on overdrive at the minute, I’d highly recommend - even if it’s just 15mins of quiet before the rest of the house wakes up!

Let me know what books you’re reading, I’m dying to know ❤️

My last day at Jayde Spa will be 26th June 2026 💚

I still have spaces left if anybody wants to book in (link in bio), and I can’t thank you all enough for letting me be a part of your gorgeous self-care Fridays for the last two years.

It goes without saying that the spa team have been the most supportive, kind and thoughtful throughout the last 2 years and with this big change as well. Appreciation post to follow later, but I love you guys so much 💚🫶

April was a strange month this year!

I’ve been hesitating posting my April updates, because last month was a bit of a dip in the rollercoaster of recovery 🎢

I’m sharing this to hopefully normalise mental health struggles, which we all go through at one stage or another. I’m very open about this in clinic as a lot of you know, and sometimes we have ‘therapy’ therapy in our sessions because that’s what you need that day 🫂❤️

I started ‘therapy’ therapy myself last month, and started taking antidepressants for the first time in my life. These combined have enabled me to get back to what I love, and spend time with the people who love me too 🙌

The little black cloud is shifting, and I’m starting to feel like myself again which is very relieving. I don’t say all of this for sympathy, I just know a lot of us have felt this recently and I want you to know I’m with you! Longterm pain can do a number on our minds among everything else, and I’m happy to lend an ear if any of you need it ❤️

Old ankle sprain still causing problems? It’s rarely just about the ankle 🧐

After a sprain, balance, reaction time, landing control and confidence can all drop off — which is why so many athletes keep re-injuring it months or even years later!

With this sprinter, we focused on:
• Single leg stability
• Proprioception + reaction work
• Landing mechanics
• Sprint-specific control
• Building trust back into the ankle

Rehab should prepare you for sport, not just standing on a wobble board forever 🤹‍♀️

If your ankle still feels ‘not quite right’, there’s usually a reason! You know where to find me 🖤

I’ve spent a lot of the last month reminding my patients that consistency>intensity ❤️

This time of year, life starts to kick off again as the sunshine reappears. We get busy, plans and weekend trips creep in and before you know it, you’re back to the same pain or same injury you spent so much time (and money!) getting treatment and an action plan for 🤦‍♀️

Little and often always, and if you need an accountability partner for a bit of support, that’s all part of my job - not yours!

Naomh 💚
