Back from my hiatus 👋

Hello again! I’m back after a month of soaking up the sun, filling my heart back up with the help of my favourite people and a sh*t tonne of reading 😆

Clinic’s been unusually busy this summer (what is it with these sore necks guys?!), so between 50hr work weeks and my Irish skin struggling with our many heatwaves, I’ve been too pooped to be inspired to make content. Thankfully, my favourite season has now arrived! 🍂🍁🕯️

I shall be sitting down this week to get back to messages at some point, but as always you can book online if you need an appt (link in bio!)

Can’t wait to sink my teeth into autumn content!!

Desk jobs don’t ruin your posture.. but spending 8 hours in one position without giving your upper back any love might 👀

The goal isn’t to chase ‘perfect posture’ - it’s to build a stronger, more resilient upper back so sitting for long periods feels less stiff, achy and exhausting 🥱

Remember: the best posture is your *next* posture. Moving regularly and building strength will always beat trying to sit bolt upright all day 🫡

💻 Save or share this with the colleague who’s forever saying ‘my back is killing me!’ - full exercise breakdown on the last slide 🙌

Life Update (a vulnerable one)…

About a month ago, I was diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD (ADD). I’ve spent my life wondering why things seemed effortless for most people, but not for me.

I could spend hours hyper-focused on something I love, yet struggle to reply to a single text. In person I give my all to those around me, but fail to follow up or keep up behind the scenes.

Being off for 9 weeks post-surgery was a breaking point for my mental health. As someone who felt always behind, I felt even further removed. What was supposed to be the triumphant end to 10 excruciating years in pain became a stressful, overwhelming void. I felt just as debilitated mentally as I was physically.

Getting my diagnosis has given me a new understanding of who I’ve always been, the language to understand my mind and the tools to work with it This post isn’t intended to define ADHD or speak for everyone’s experience - it’s simply what I’ve learned about my brain so far. If even one slide makes someone feel a little less alone, then sharing it will have been worth it.

If you’ve ever been diagnosed with ADHD (or are currently wondering whether to seek getting assessed), I’d genuinely love to hear about your experience 🤍

Strong shoulders aren’t built by endlessly waving a resistance band around 🙌 (wee boogie at the end!) 🕺

These are 6 exercises I regularly use with patients to build confidence, strength and resilience around the shoulder, particularly when pressing movements feel a bit wobbly or unpredictable 😵‍💫

‼️Share it with your gym buddy whose shoulder has been ‘clicking for years’! Full exercise breakdown on last slide for you to save 🙌

Plot twist… I’m stealing Fridays too!

From this month you’ll find me at NIKS | SKIN every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It’s been one of my favourite places to work, so being able to add another clinic day feels amazing 🤍

To celebrate, I’ve got 10% off selected appointments throughout July (details on slide 3).

If you’ve been saying “I really should get that looked at…”, consider this your sign.

If your summer plans involve reading in parks, on trains or pretending you’re the main character - here’s where I’d start ☀️📚

From reality TV turned thriller to lyrical love stories and classics that are surprisingly approachable - these are some of my favourite books I’ve read recently!

Please send me your summer favourites, I need them all!! 🤓

Last day VS first day at Jayde Spa 🥹💚✨

It’s the end of an era, and the start of a new chapter. So much has changed since Feb 2024, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude for Jayde, and the whole spa team. They’ve been with me through one of the most challenging portions of my life, and their support (and hugs & laughs!) will be forever cherished 💚

I couldn’t leave without a wee thank you post, but also couldn’t help showing off these BEAUTIFUL flowers 😍💐

Ankle rehab progression for a sprinter 👟⚡️

Session 2 was all about progressing from controlled balance work into more reactive, sport-specific loading.

In sprinting specifically, your ankle doesn’t get time to ‘think’, it needs to react, absorb force and stabilise fast! ⏳

Today’s focus:
• Reactive stability
• Force absorption
• Single leg control
• Landing mechanics
• Sprint-specific movement patterns

Good rehab should gradually look more and more like the demands of the sport itself - no endless resistance bands, it’s about building an athlete that trusts their ankle again! 🏃🏾🙌
