Facethetics Training is lead by Yvonne Senior and Alison Stananought. Yvonne Senior is a highly experienced non-surgical aesthetic nurse with clinics in both Yorkshire and the North West and over 20 years of practise within the field of medical cosmetics. She continues to widen her scope of knowledge as she was recently awarded a first class honours degree in dermatology by Sterling University. Y

vonne was among the first wave of nurses to enter the profession and as a result she has helped pave the way for many who followed by forming the professional membership organisation PIAPA (Private Independent Aesthetic Practices Association). The group supports other practitioners in advancing their skills and expertise and has helped several to gain their V300 qualification and exposed them to continuously progressing techniques, treatments, laws and regulations. She currently resides on the board of The Journal of Aesthetic Nursing and consults with governmental bodies such as Health Education England and the NMC regarding developing frameworks and qualifications. PIAPA is an organisation committed to improving standards within the aesthetic industry, providing support and education to fellow Practitioners. The guiding principles of the group are public safety and a member’s fitness to practice via education programmes in supportive non-judgemental environments. Yvonne has over 25 years’ experience as a Care Deliverer and Senior Management in the NHS and holds 12 years experience within the Aesthetic field. Yvonne continues to place a high priority on continuous development and is passionate about using her own experience in the field of training and sharing best practice. Yvonne feels it is important for all the regulated professions to have a say in shaping the future of Aesthetics as a speciality.

We've got a space available on our next Universal Lips course, taking place on 26th October!

Learn to create beautiful lips, adding volume and definition. You will also learn to treat the border of the lips, soften "lipstick" lines around the edges of the lips AND (as long as you're Botox trained) you will also learn the "Lip Flip" technique.

Have you been to any industry events or conferences this year? A few of the biggest ones have already been and gone, but there are some more coming up before the end of the year!

These events are always a great opportunity for aesthetic practitioners to find out about new products and techniques, observe demonstrations, attend talks and seminars, and of course, to network with their peers. We love attending when we can, and catching up with industry friends and colleagues that we don't get to see very often.

We all know what happened last week. It was desperately, desperately sad and entirely preventable.

At this point, we don't even know what to say anymore. Many of us in this industry have been crying out for proper regulation for YEARS. Licensing was confirmed to be going ahead back in 2022. And yet here we are, October 2024, with still no sign of anything changing.

The JCCP, BAMAN, BCAM and APG UK are among the organisations who have released statements highlighting the dire need for immediate regulation in aesthetics. But it really just feels like, once again, these statements will fall on deaf ears...

Day in, day out, we see countless "practitioners" advertising their services online. Ridiculously cheap prices. "Anti wrinkle" and B12 appointments with no mention of a prescription. No aftercare. No hygiene protocols. Calling themselves "advanced" but with little evidence of appropriate training or knowledge. It's bad enough that these people are carrying out facial injectables, which come with very real risks. But that many of these same people are now also carrying out extremely high-risk procedures like BBL?! It honestly makes us want to tear our hair out.

Thinking about Level 7?

Did you know that we offer the Express Pathway, which is a way for experienced aesthetic practitioners to gain their Level 7 Diploma, without having to go back to the start and complete a full training course from scratch? Instead, via RPEL (Recognition of Prior and Experiential Learning), your existing training, skills and experience are taken into account and contribute to your qualification!

If you can answer "yes" to the following 4 statements, you're eligible for the Express Pathway!

1. I am a medical practitioner who has been insured to deliver Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Filler treatments for 3 years or more.
2. I have treated 40 clients with Botulinum Toxin and have full consultation history.
3. I have treated 40 clients with Dermal Filler and have full consultation history.
4. I can provide a peer reference from a colleague whose experience is equal to or greater than my own in aesthetics.
