I refuse to call you “lazy” because you struggle with consistency.
-
You’re supposed to struggle because it isn’t easy.
-
But it does get easier.
-
So keep trying.
-
I’m cheering you on.
-
And if you want information you can trust, so you can struggle to do something that’ll actually work, you’re in the right place.

Dec ’24 ▶️ Aug ’26
-
Same weight in both, but leaner & more muscular.
-
1.5 years of training & eating in alignment with my goals. (But not of learning how to pose.)
-
In December ’24, I’d been training for 6.5 years.
-
Now, I’ve been training for 8+.
-
This is a visual reminder that muscle growth is not only slow; it also gets slower the longer you’ve been training.
-
Fat loss spoils us all because you can see significant changes every month, fortnight, or even week.
-
But muscle growth taught me an important lesson: To find joy in the process instead of the outcome, cheesy as it sounds, because the outcome takes too long to be motivating.
-
Muscle growth taught me to find something to like about every set, rep, and meal.
-
Which is why I’m still around after 8+ years.

Day to day, you can’t really control the number on the scale.
-
Stress, your menstrual cycle, injury, illness, gut content, constipation, loose stools, sodium, & water retention can all impact it over the short term.
-
Over the long term, scale weight is a useful tool to assess whether you’re losing or gaining fat.
-
So, at best, scale weight is a useful metric to track whether your behaviours are getting you closer to your goal…
-
… But it’s these behaviours that matter most.
-
Celebrate them above all.
-
And if you want to work with a coach who’s going to support & guide you to get these wins & achieve your physique & health goals instead of obsessing over the scale…

Some complex thoughts on this second top surgery anniversary. ❤️

Content warning: Some of these slides show pictures of my chest soon after surgery. View at your own discretion.

Slide 1: Soon after I woke up.

Slide 2: First time in my life I’ve been high lol. (On anaesthetic)

Slide 3: This might have been before the op, but I could be wrong.
-
Turns out your memory is hazy when you’re high on anaesthetic lol.

Slide 4: The first time I took off the post-op binder.

Slide 5: The first time I got to see my new chest (with bandages). ❤️

Slide 6: The first full chest reveal in the surgeon’s office, when I was allowed to remove the bandages. ❤️

Every aspect of fitness is a skill.
-
I used to suck at deadlifts.
-
I used to have no idea whether I was hungry or not. I just wanted to eat bread, fries, & chocolate all the time. LOL
-
There was a time when I’d have “intuitively eaten” myself to starvation.
-
“Listening to your body” is a skill, too.
-
Content that makes it sound as though you should already be good at any aspect of fitness yesterday is misleading.
-
Some people naturally are, but they’re few & far between.

Back in 2018, I’d recovered physically from anorexia, but mentally I still carried a deep fear of gaining weight.
-
Today, that fear no longer controls me, and one of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping clients work through the same mindset challenges.
-
If you’re anxious about starting a bulk, these are the strategies I’ve found most helpful.
-
And if you want my comprehensive guide to bulking podcast, comment/DM “EP. 139” & I’ll send it to you.
