K I N D N E S S
When done with an open heart with no expectation of anything in return, Kindness can bring joy to the giver and receiver of it.
I was on an course last weekend, which involved self inquiry, breath-Work - Sudarshan Kriya, meditation and human connection.
Part of our homework, on the Saturday, was to do 3 random acts of kindness.
By which point I was feeling like s**t! I wasn’t feeling very joyful at all and did not feel like I wanted to interact with anyone, headache and things on my mind. The Kriya brings up a lot too.
I went for a walk that afternoon in childwall woods and noticed someone had left a poo bag (full) hanging off one of the benches. It looked like someone had sat, hung it up, listened to the birds, walked off and forgot it. So I took it to the bin. That was no 1.
Then I went to Tescos, I was buying the flowers for The Sunday Service, one of which this pic is of.
I decided I would give it to one of the cashiers. I immediately saw who I wanted to give it too. Someone who always looks a little glum but really friendly and we always chat.
There was a really stylish looking woman, rockabilly, at the til. So I told her how amazing she looked and that she had great style - I do this often anyway, it’s important that we compliment each other!she was delighted. Beaming, which made me beam. No 2.
Then I chatted to my guy at the till, he couldn’t wait to get off and had hours left so I gave home one of the flowers I’d bought, again - he was made up. Beamed. And - made me beam. No 3.
So not only did I brighten their day, but through it - it brightened my day.
I’ve done the Kriya these last three mornings since the course - which was my 5th time as a repeater, and I actually feel really good for the first time in ages.
Thank you to my dear friend for delivering a wonderful course. It was my favourite yet ❤️
