đ¸đ A little throwback to a Kambo self-serve from last year đ¸đ
This was 10 gates. That same week, I had also started a parasite cleanse, and my intention going into this sit was to clear anything that felt heavy, mentally, emotionally and physically and to support my body in releasing what it no longer needed.
Looking back, I can see that I pushed myself too far.
There is something incredibly valuable about learning to self-serve as a practitioner. It can deepen your relationship with Kambo, strengthen your ability to listen to your body and build trust between you and the medicine.
But there is also a huge responsibility that comes with being a practitioner and part of that responsibility is recognising that more medicine does not necessarily mean more healing.
During this particular sit, there is a period I donât remember clearly. I believe I may have briefly lost consciousness, and in the days afterwards I discovered I had a black eye. That alone tells me I should not have been holding this level of process by myself.
I share this not to encourage anyone to replicate it, but because I think itâs equally important to share the lessons alongside the beautiful experiences.
My practice has evolved considerably since then. For me, being a responsible practitioner isnât about proving how much medicine you can hold. Itâs about respecting Kambo, understanding your own limits, continuing to learn and knowing when you need another person there to safely hold space for you.
The medicine continues to teach me â sometimes through the choices I wouldnât make again. đ¸đ
