WE’VE BEEN KEEPING A SECRET… 👀😭

Yesterday was the start of something REALLY special for Lumiere. 💜

We had our Parent Information Day for our brand new provision… and honestly, we still can’t believe how far this little dream has come 🥹

WE’RE EXPANDING.

We’ve taken on another building which will soon be connected directly to Lumiere, creating a whole NEW space for our children and families.

And if you remember what our original building looked like when we first took it on… you’ll know this doesn’t surprise you 😂

Apparently, we see a building that needs A LOT of work and think:

“Yep. We can do something with that.” 😂

Anything is possible. ANYTHING.

And the best part?

Early 2027, this space will be READY. 😭💜

More children. More opportunities. More sessions. More choice for families.

We’re creating a calmer space where children can slow down, regulate, explore, learn, play and simply BE.

A space designed around children with additional needs.

A space where parents don’t have to wonder, “Will this be suitable for my child?”

Because we’re thinking about that for them. 💜

There is SO much more coming that we haven’t shown you yet… and honestly, if you could see what we can see, you’d understand why we’re SO excited 🥹

Give us four walls and a vision… and just watch what happens. 👀💜

This chapter of Lumiere feels different.

Because, if we’re honest… we shouldn’t have had to create it.

So much of what we’re doing has come from things we’ve personally lived through.

The worry.
The questions.
The fear.
The feeling of having to fight for your child to be understood.

We never planned for any of this.

But if our experiences have taught us anything, it’s that we can’t just sit back and watch other families go through the same things.

So we’ll be the voice.

We’ll ask the questions.

We’ll speak up when something isn’t right.

And we’ll do everything we can to put things right.

Because no parent should feel like they have to fight this hard just for their child to be understood.

We shouldn’t have to do this.

But until things change…

What a SUMMER we’ve had!!! 🥹💜🫶

THANK YOU 🥹💜 to every single person who has booked a session with us this summer and made it absolutely UNREAL! 💜

Because of the amazing people who have donated and supported Lumiere, we’ve been able to gift 80+ FREE sessions to our families this summer! 🥹🫶

Then we were gifted 40 spaces from Indoor Funfair for our families thank you so much 🎡🥹

So basically… 140+ experiences gifted to our families this summer!!! 🥹🥹🥹

But that’s not all…

This summer we also launched our Teen Soul Sisters sessionsTeen Soul Sistersgirls and teens, created to give siblings their own space to build confidence, make friends, have fun and remind them just how important they are too. 💜

A HUGE thank you to the Eleanor Rathbone Foundation for supporting us and helping make these sessions possible. 🫶💜

We also teamed up with Guide Dogs North West and Guide Dogs North Westecial session for children with visual impairments creating an experience designed around them, their needs and their way of exploring the world. 🐾💜

AND we launched our Low Mobility Sessions too! Thank you JMW Solicitors LLP 💜

Honestly, what an amazing session this was 🥹💚

Just our kids being kids 🥹💚 and I absolutely loved watching them today.

As soon as they walked through the door, Darcy took their mobiles and iPads off them and worked her magic ✨😂 and it was just so lovely seeing them all playing, laughing and enjoying themselves.

A massive thank you to the Eleanor Rathbone Foundation for making this possible for our children. We are so, so grateful 💚

A couple were away on holiday and one was poorly today, so we missed them, but honestly can’t wait to have them all together for the next one 🥹💚

These little moments mean so much to us at Lumiere. Just seeing them happy, having fun and being themselves is everything. 💚

The appointments. The sleepless nights. The strength it takes to keep going. The siblings who so often put their own feelings aside. The families who carry more than most people will ever see.

This is why Lumiere was created.

Because no family should have to walk this journey alone.

In just over a year, Lumiere has supported more than 1,500 families, giving them understanding, connection and a place where they finally feel they belong. But there are thousands more still waiting.

It’s my day off… but when you build something from your heart, does a day off ever really exist? 💜

Today wasn’t about meetings or big milestones. It was Hobbycraft, a food wholesaler, slow cooking tomorrow’s lunch for Lumiere, printing and sorting our new menus, restocking the snacks (thanks, Melody 💜), dropping kids off, forgetting half the shopping, a last minute Costco trip… then my car broke down because it ran out of AdBlue 😭. And of course, a full Jaxon meltdown because he wanted something he couldn’t have.

Just another ordinary day in our world.

But what makes this video so special isn’t me… it’s my three babies.

Valentina telling the story.
Melody quietly helping wherever she can.
And Jaxon… the little boy who changed our lives forever.

People often ask how Lumiere came to life. The truth is… this is how.

It was built between school runs, meltdowns, forgotten shopping lists, slow cookers, broken down cars, and children growing up watching us pour every bit of us into creating a place where families like ours finally belong.

One day my children will look back and realise they didn’t just watch us build Lumiere…

They helped build it.

And that’s something I’ll never stop being proud of. 💜

People always ask what makes Lumiere so special.

It’s not us.

It’s all of you.

It’s families who know exactly how hard this journey can be, choosing to make it a little easier for another family.

You didn’t have to do that.

But you did.

Because of your kindness, more families will get to come to Lumiere this summer, make memories, watch their child smile and just forget about everything for a little while.

Sometimes we get so caught up trying to keep Lumiere going that we forget to stop and take moments like this in.

This community is honestly something else.

The love you all have for each other, the kindness you show without anyone asking, the way you quietly look after one another… it never stops amazing us. 🥹💜

Thank you for reminding us why we started all of this.

A really special one for us at Lumiere 💜

We’ve posted this one before but please help us reach another 2 young people to join us starting tomorrow Tuesday 💜

We’ve also revised the age range slightly as long as they are 11 and in senior school, they’re more than welcome to join so 11-16 year old are Welcome✨

This siblings programme means so much to us and is all about creating a safe space to build confidence, friendships and feel understood 💭

📅 Starts May 12th🕕 Tuesdays | 6:00pm–7:30pm💜 Fully funded thanks to the Eleanor Foundation for believing in our Vision....
