๐ŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month from Mountbatton Care! ๐ŸŒˆ

This Pride Month, we celebrate love, diversity, acceptance and the right for every person to be exactly who they are.

At Mountbatton Care, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, valued and empowered to live authentically. Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, recognise the progress that has been made, and acknowledge that there is still work to do to ensure equality and inclusion for all.

Being an ally isn't complicated. It can be as simple as:
๐Ÿ’œ Respecting people's identities and pronouns
๐Ÿ’™ Challenging discrimination and prejudice when you see it
๐Ÿ’š Listening and learning from LGBTQ+ experiences
๐Ÿ’› Creating safe and inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome
๐Ÿงก Supporting LGBTQ+ friends, family members, colleagues and those we support

At Mountbatton Care, inclusion isn't just something we talk about โ€“ it's something we actively promote. We have supported individuals to attend local Pride events, celebrate their identities, access LGBTQ+ communities and build meaningful connections. Our staff also receive training and guidance around equality, diversity, pronouns, gender identity and trans rights, helping us to provide truly person-centred support that respects every individual's wishes, choices and identity.

We are proud to stand alongside the LGBTQ+ community and to foster a culture where everyone feels accepted, heard and valued.

If you're looking for support, information or ways to get involved locally, we encourage you to explore the fantastic work of:
๐ŸŒˆ Sahir House
๐ŸŒˆ The Proud Trust
๐ŸŒˆ LGBT Foundation
๐ŸŒˆ In-Trust Merseyside
๐ŸŒˆ Merseyside LGBTQ+ Network

Together, we can help create communities where everyone belongs.

Happy Pride Month! ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

๐ŸŒŸ Sean's Adventures โ€“ A Well-Deserved Week Away in Barmouth ๐ŸŒŸ

This month, Sean enjoyed a fantastic week-long holiday in beautiful Barmouth alongside his support worker, Geoff. Making the journey all the way from Liverpool, the pair headed to the Welsh coast for a relaxing break filled with fresh sea air, stunning scenery and some much-needed downtime.

Sean particularly loved the peace and quiet that Barmouth had to offer. From taking in the breathtaking coastal views and exploring the local area to simply enjoying the slower pace of life, the holiday was tailored around Sean's preferences and interests, ensuring he could truly make the most of his time away.

At Mountbatton Care, we believe that meaningful experiences and opportunities to explore new places are an important part of living a fulfilling life. Supporting people to access holidays, make memories and enjoy experiences that matter to them is at the heart of our person-centred approach. Seeing Sean happy, relaxed and enjoying his holiday is exactly why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to Geoff for supporting Sean throughout his trip and helping to make it such a positive and memorable experience.

Here's to many more adventures ahead, Sean!

๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿข Leo's Photography Adventures ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ“ธ

Following on from Leo's fantastic photography project, where he captured stunning images of flowers, fruit and wildlife in his garden, he has now turned his attention to one of his favourite subjects โ€“ his turtles!

Leo has always had a passion for nature and animal photography, and this incredible action shot of one of his turtles enjoying a prawn shows just how much his photography skills are developing. Capturing the perfect moment takes patience, timing and a keen eye for detail โ€“ and Leo certainly delivered!

At Mountbatton Care, we believe that meaningful, person-centred support starts with understanding what matters most to the people we support. By encouraging Leo to pursue his hobbies and interests, we're helping him build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy activities that bring him genuine happiness and fulfilment.

It's wonderful to see Leo continuing to explore his love of photography, finding new subjects to capture and sharing his unique perspective with us all.

Keep up the amazing work, Leo โ€“ we can't wait to see what you photograph next!

๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽค SUPPORT A FANTASTIC LOCAL CAUSE ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ

https://www.spacehive.com/young-people-making-music

A brilliant local crowdfunder is currently raising funds to provide FREE music sessions for young people in Bootle โ€” helping create safe spaces, improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and give young people opportunities to learn new skills and build confidence through music.

The project aims to fund 4 months of free music provision, with the opportunity to unlock a further 4 months through match funding. The young people themselves helped shape the project, highlighting the importance of stability, routine and trusted relationships to create lasting positive change.

The programme will include:
๐ŸŽธ Youth Guitar Club โ€“ Fretboard Society
๐ŸŽง Songwriting & Digital Music Workshop โ€“ Sound Lab
๐Ÿฅ A brand new band-based workshop requested by the Youth Board

There will also be:
โœจ Free performances and showcases for families and friends
โœจ Outreach into schools and alternative provision
โœจ Dedicated youth workers supporting young people and families
โœจ Safe, engaging spaces that encourage creativity and social connection

In an area where many young people report feeling unsafe and isolated, projects like this can genuinely change lives. Learning music, building friendships and having positive activities to engage in can help improve mental health, confidence and future opportunities.

Some of the young people already involved said:
๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI love coming to this club. I've met so many new friends, and it means I'm not just sitting on my computer.โ€
๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI got given a guitar and learned to play music for the first time.โ€

At Mountbatton Care, we are always proud to support initiatives that promote inclusion, wellbeing, community engagement and meaningful opportunities for people of all ages.

If you can, please consider donating or sharing this worthwhile local project
Every contribution can help make a difference.

โšก๐Ÿช„ Leanneโ€™s Adventures ๐Ÿช„โšก

Leanne recently enjoyed an amazing few days away visiting the world famous Warner Bros. Studio Tour London โ€“ The Making of Harry Potter alongside a quick trip to Buckingham Palace with the ever dedicated and fantastic staff team, Elaine and Tett.

As a huge Harry Potter fan and lover of all things magical, this trip was something Leanne had been looking forward to for a long time โ€” and it certainly did not disappoint! From exploring Hogwarts, seeing Platform 9ยพ, visiting iconic film sets and even spotting the Knight Bus, Leanne was completely immersed in the magic of it all .

At Mountbatton Care, we believe truly person-centred support means helping people access opportunities that reflect their hobbies, passions and interests. Supporting Leanne to enjoy overnight stays, meaningful experiences and community activities helps promote confidence, independence, routine and emotional wellbeing โ€” while also creating memories that last a lifetime.

The smiles say it all! These few days away looked absolutely magical, and we are so proud of the staff team for going above and beyond to carefully plan and support experiences that are meaningful to Leanne.

We love seeing Leanne flourish, enjoy new experiences and continue building a life filled with joy, adventure and the things she loves most .

๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŒฟ Leoโ€™s Photography ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“ธ

We are incredibly proud of Leo, who has recently completed a photography course with The Life Rooms in the North West!

The Life Rooms do amazing work empowering people and communities to improve their health, wellbeing and social opportunities through meaningful activities, education and support, and this course has been a fantastic opportunity for Leo to explore one of his passions.

These stunning photographs, captured by Leo himself, showcase not only his creativity and growing confidence, but also his eye for detail and appreciation for nature. From vibrant flowers and wildlife to close-up nature shots, Leoโ€™s work has truly impressed us all!

At Mountbatton Care, we believe person-centred support means helping people access opportunities that genuinely reflect their hobbies, interests and goals. Supporting Leo to attend courses like this helps provide meaningful engagement, structure, routine and independence โ€” all while building confidence and skills in something he truly enjoys.

We canโ€™t wait to see where Leoโ€™s photography journey takes him next. Keep up the amazing work, Leo โ€” you should be very proud of yourself!

Last week, Leanne enjoyed a lovely trip to Southport Marine Lake with staff members Elaine and Kerry.

Making the most of the sunshine and a welcome break in the rain, Leanne enjoyed getting her steps in around the lake, feeding the ducks, geese and cygnets, and spending time outdoors in nature.

There were lots of smiles, fresh air and happy moments shared throughout the day โ€” and we love seeing you happy and thriving, Leanne.

๐Ÿ’šโœจ Leanne & Donnaโ€™s Adventures โœจ๐Ÿ’š

Good friends Donna and Leanne love nothing more than spending quality time together โ€” and we believe those friendships and connections should always be nurtured and celebrated.

Their amazing staff team work hard to ensure Donna and Leanne maintain their beautiful friendship, supporting them to stay connected, continue making memories, and enjoy the things they love most together.

This week, staff organised a wonderful day out to Southport, where the ladies enjoyed a lovely carvery lunch (Leanneโ€™s absolute favourite ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ), a walk in the sunshine, and plenty of laughs while getting their steps in.

At Mountbatton Care, we know that relationships, identity, friendship and belonging are such an important part of wellbeing and happiness. Supporting meaningful connections is always at the heart of the care we provide.

A huge thank you to Elaine, Kerry, Jeff and Tracey for helping create such positive experiences and special memories together.
