Every Tuesday at 6:30pm

A relaxed and welcoming yoga session for children, parents and families — a space to move, breathe, play, connect and spend meaningful time together.

Location depends on the weather:

If raining: The Lake House Waterloo, Cambridge Rd, Waterloo, Liverpool L22 1RRIf dry: Sand dunes meeting point by the car park at 1 Blucher Street, meeting at the bottom of the car park

Weekly Family Yoga / Kids Yoga

Family yoga is a quiet rebellion.
Against the rush.
Against the pressure.
Against a world that asks our children to become little working machines.

Here, they get to be human.

To breathe.
To wobble.
To laugh.
To rest.
To feel their feet on the ground
and their hearts in the room.

When we practise beside them,
we teach without preaching:

Your body is wise.
Your breath is home.
Your feelings belong.
You do not have to perform to be loved.

It should be felt, held and lived.

How do you know if your yoga practice is actually working?

Not by the shape of your body.
Not by your perfect pose.
Not by how “zen” you look on the mat.

Look at your relationships.

Are you more patient with your children?
More present with your partner?
More forgiving with your friends?
More able to pause before you react?

That is yoga.

The mat is only the practice ground.
Life is where it shows.

It shows when your child pushes every button and you breathe before snapping.
It shows when you listen to understand, not to win.
It shows when you soften, apologise, repair, and try again.

Yoga is not about becoming impressive.

It is about becoming aware.
Grounded.
Honest.
Human.

Sometimes the biggest stretch is not in your hamstrings.

It is in your capacity to love people better.

How do you know if your yoga practice is actually working?

Not by how deep your forward fold is.
Not by how still you look in meditation.
Not by whether your leggings match your mat.

Look at your relationships.

Are you becoming more patient with your children?
More present with your partner?
More forgiving with your friends?
More able to listen without preparing your defence?
More willing to pause before reacting?

That is where yoga starts to show.

Because yoga is not only what happens on the mat.

The mat is the practice ground.
Life is the real test.

It is in the moment your child pushes every button and you choose to breathe before snapping.
It is in the conversation where you listen to understand, not to win.
It is in the quiet decision to soften, apologise, care, repair, and try again.

Yoga is not about becoming more impressive.

It is about becoming more aware.

More honest.
More human.

It is in your capacity to love people better.

Two weeks. So much movement. So much energy.

From yoga with children and parents, weekly adults yoga sessions to sound bath and Yoga at The Lake House Together in Balance is proving one thing clearly:

Wellbeing does not need to be loud to be powerful.

Sometimes it looks like children laughing on the mat.
Sometimes it looks like parents finally exhaling.
Sometimes it looks like music, rhythm, hips, breath and a room full of people remembering they are alive.

This is community in motion.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us, moved with us, rested with us and helped shape the conversations in the room.

And thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for helping us bring these experiences to life.

Fully booked again.

Yesterday’s yoga and sound bath session was a beautiful reminder that rest is not a luxury, it is nervous system care.

Through gentle movement, breathwork, sound and gong bath relaxation, we created space to slow down, soften, and reconnect.

Research shows that sound meditation can reduce tension, fatigue and low mood, while slow breathing helps activate the body’s rest-and-recovery response. So no, this is not “just relaxation”. This is deep regulation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to help this community grow.

A heartfelt thank you also to our funders - National Lottery Found for enabling experiences like this to happen, making wellbeing, connection and deep rest more accessible in our community.
