Solstice blessings to all✨️
Today marks the longest day and it is also the return of cancer season! And what a beautiful day we've had to mark this occasion.
Being a cancerian myself I love the turn to summer. I'm sure I'm solar powered!

As the light is at it's fullest, today holds both celebration and surrender as the days start to shorten again. Now is the time to set your intentions for the rest of the year.
The self heal is abundant and the Mugwort is in flower. The smell from the roses is intoxicating and colour and aroma fill the farm.

We will be taking the time to honour the Solstice with an evening dip down in the stream and lighting a fire. Giving us that moment to pause and enjoy the energies of solstice.

May the summer bring the fire of abundance to you and your loved ones💛

🤍Gratitude 🤍

Today is my beautiful mums birthday. She passed 6 years ago last month.💛

Grief hits you in waves. I was okish on the day of her passing this year but when the date of her funeral came I was a mess. I wobbled hard on that day and I was surprised by it. Grief doesn't follow rules.
My mum was my world. She totally understood me in ways others don't, she instilled in me the courage to be myself, and own that.

Gratitude brought me back to my centre, not only on that day but every day. Back to my still point. It allows me to come back into my body and cherish all of the great things I have in my life.

Gratitude allows to you see the joy all around you. I see and feel the love from my husband, the incredible life we have nurtured together over the last 23 years.

My wonderful dad who is always by my side, my friends who love me for me.
The eden I get to call home.
The birds singing all day long, my animal family, the deep and unwavering connection I have to nature.
Even down to the small things we take for granted. Turning on my tap and having running water, flicking a light switch and having light. Good food and the warmth of a homemade herbal tea.

There is so much to be grateful for even if the world is a little topsy turvy. You just need to see, feel and experience the magic that is all around, smile and hold the joy and love in your heart.

What are you grateful for today?

🌿✨ Reflexology and the Brain. Exciting New Research ✨🌿

Reflexology has long been valued as a gentle therapy that encourages relaxation, supports wellbeing, and helps the body find a place of balance. Now, fascinating new research is beginning to show just how deeply this ancient practice may connect with the brain itself.

A recent study led by Dr. Stefan Posse from the University of New Mexico explored what happens in the brain during reflexology sessions using advanced functional MRI (fMRI) technology. For the first time, researchers were able to observe brain activity in real time while specific reflex areas of the feet were being worked.

What they discovered was truly remarkable. Different reflex areas appeared to activate different regions and networks within the brain. The responses weren't limited to the area of the brain associated with the feet; multiple areas became active, including the supramarginal gyrus, a region linked to empathy, learning, and body awareness.

The research also explored the effects of reflexology in people recovering from stroke. Brain activity patterns differed depending on which foot received treatment, and following reflex stimulation, participants demonstrated improvements in sensory awareness and sensorimotor function in their affected hands. These findings are opening new conversations about the role reflexology may play alongside rehabilitation and recovery.

While research in this area is still developing, studies such as these are helping to build a growing body of scientific evidence that reflexology creates measurable responses within the brain. It reminds us that our bodies are wonderfully interconnected, and that therapies designed to nurture the whole person may have a far deeper impact than we once understood.

At Tynton Farm Therapies, reflexology is offered as a calming and supportive treatment, creating space for relaxation, restoration and reconnection. Whether you seek a moment of stillness, support during times of stress, or simply wish to explore the benefits this beautiful therapy may offer, reflexology gently meets you where you are.

As science continues to uncover the intricate relationship between touch, the nervous system and wellbeing, it is an exciting time to witness ancient healing practices being explored through a modern lens 🌱

I love it when a plan comes together 🤗
We wanted to build a beautiful, aromatic healing walled space to fill with medicinal herbs for my apothecary . There is so many healing plants in this small area. Some have self seeded there also and I'll just leave them to do their thing😆

How many can you identify? Some are just about to bloom right in time for the warm weather to return this weekend ☀️

🌿 Wild Woman Tea by the Stream 🌿
I can't believe it's been nearly two weeks since I hosted our Wild Woman retreat. It feels like yesterday! What a joy it was to share such a gentle, restorative afternoon together on the farm. The Wild Woman Tea retreat was all about slowing down, reconnecting with the land, and ourselves.

Hearing words like these fills my heart, knowing that the calm energy of Tynton, and the wisdom of the plants helped others find peace and clarity is everything this land encapsulates.

Each gathering is a chance to pause, listen, and feel the deep love that flows through this land and all who walk upon it. 💚

Yarrow

Achillea millfolium

The keeper of boundaries

Yarrow has been rising through the fields these past weeks, its feathery leaves starting to show with its soft white flowers slowly budding.
It stands like a guardian on the land, steady and sure, reminding us of the strength that comes from clarity and calm.

Known since the time of Achilles, this powerhouse of a herb has long been a companion for healing. The legend goes that it was used on the battlefield to staunch bleeding.
It's my go-to herb when I have my monthly cycle, as it helps me greatly with menstrual cramps and excessive blood flow.

The druids also regarded it as a highly sacred plant, using it in divination, as a spiritual protector, and for its incredible healing abilities.

Its leaves and flowers have been used to soothe inflammation, support circulation, ease tension in the body.

Applied topically, it is a mild astringent and antiseptic. You can make so many simple things from it. Teas, tinctures, infused oils, as a poultice, a gentle salve, a wild bath soak. The list is endless!

You will often find yarrow along meadow edges and bright grassy paths, standing tall and unmistakable once your eyes learn its shape. I love meeting it on quiet walks, as if it is offering a small reminder to return to myself.

And perhaps that is its deeper medicine. Healthy boundaries allow both connection and protection. They help us stay open without losing our centre. They help us soften without slipping away from ourselves.

A little invitation from the land today

Where might your own boundaries be asking for a touch more attention?

I have been given a wonderful opportunity to show my connection with the bees and how I go about my life in a conscious and grounded way.
A wonderful local filmmaker will be following my journey with the bees and nature-based activities on the farm, and we are looking for someone who is also neurodivergent to participate in this journey.
It would involve being filmed.

This filming will form part of a short project supported by Ffilm Cymru, exploring neurodiversity and relationships with nature. Local filmmaker Florence Browne will work with us and any filming will be relaxed and flexible to suit your needs. We'll have several sessions together so we can get to know you and follow your journey. If you have questions about how filming might work, do contact Florence at [email protected]
If you or someone you know would be interested in being part of this with me and the bees, please drop me a message

Sunday marked the day of my first-ever gathering here on the farm. 🌿
And I have to be honest, this was a huge deal for me!
Opening myself up, stepping into my role as a guide and teacher for the first time, trusting that I had something worth sharing, that took everything I had. The self doubt was so loud! It had taken me two full days to recover. Because when you live with hEDS, neurodiversity and you're also highly sensitive, life is a little more complicated than it might look from the outside. My body and my mind both ask a lot of me, and some days the juggle is real. But I did it. And I would do it a thousand times over. 💚

The farm and I welcomed beautiful wild women to come and slow down for an afternoon, filling their cups back up with the help of nature and all that she offers.
We began by connecting to Grandfather Yew, a guardian of this ancient land for many, many years. He has been witness to so much, and it was an honour to open our circle in his energy.
We then walked the land gently and mindfully, meeting the plant allies that showed up for us in that moment, Elder, Narrowleaf Plantain, Cleavers, Ground Ivy, Nettle, Foxglove, Wild Strawberry, Red Clover, Fox and Cubs, Hawthorn, Hazel, Sea Buckthorn, Fern, Oak, Ash, Bramble... and I'm sure a few more I haven't mentioned! 🌱
We arrived at the glade, where a portal to the elemental kingdom lies waiting. We took our time feeling into the magic of the woods, taking in the smells, sights and sounds, with the running water and plunge pool calling to us. Some accepted the invite to sit with their feet in the water and let it clear and restore them before we settled by the open fire.

There we brewed a special blend of foraged herbs, shared homemade nettle and lemon cake adorned with wildflowers and fresh wild strawberries, before sinking into a beautifully healing and empowering Blue Moon meditation. 🌕

My heartfelt thanks to every beautiful woman who joined me, and a special mention to those who had booked but couldn't make it this time. Knowing how much people received from this little paradise I get to call home has filled my heart completely.

A very special mention to the incredibly talented whose beautiful handmade pottery mugs held our herbal blends on Sunday; they made the whole experience even more magical and special. If you haven't seen her work, go and take a look. 🤍

None of this would have been possible without my wonderful husband Nic. Behind every single thing I do, he is there, steady, supportive, and believing in me even when I doubt myself. I am so grateful for you. 🤍
And to my best friend Charlotte, thank you for capturing the magic of the day so beautifully through your lens. Without you, these precious memories would exist only in our hearts. The photos are everything. 🙏
And the good news? This is just the beginning. 🌿 Autumn and winter gatherings are already taking shape, think bramble and sloe gin foraging, wreath making, fire circles, and more.

🌿 Nettle.
The fierce nourisher

Sitting under the planet Mars, the planet of blood, action, energy, courage. The warrior archetype
Nettle is the perfect fit for this energy.

Nettles are one of my favourite plant allies. It asks for a little care when you meet it, yet it gives so much back in return. It are an incredible herb that packs a mighty punch!

There is such pleasure in spring for me when they start to pop up everywhere on the farm.
When gathering, It feels like taking part in an old countryside ritual. One that I fondly enjoy each year. Noticing the young tops in the morning light, and gathering them with patience and respect. If you go gently when picking nettle it will sting you. However if you go in with intent and be brave you'll find that it will not.

Nettles are rich in iron and minerals that help cleanse and strengthen the body.
It supports circulation, it is a natural antihistamine and are anti inflammatory.
Nettle brings a steady grounded energy that feels good from the inside out.
Turning something that once stung into nourishment is a reminder of how generous nature can be when we slow down and listen.

Nettle can be used in so many ways.
Their soft top leaves can be picked and used in teas, in cakes, topically in a balm, as a wilted forage for horses and livestock and is also a fantastic plant fertiliser. You can also tincture the leaves and roots, and make an infused apple cider vinegar.

When the female plant has seeded, you can collect the seeds ready for winter to be used to boost energy, improve mood, support kidney and adrenal function.
Here's to the fierce nourisher that we all need!
Next time you walk past a nettle plant, thank it for its medicine 🌿
