Myofascial Release
What your fascia does.
Its acts as a lubricant that allows organs and muscles to move without sticking to each other. It's your CONNECTIVE TISSUE. This tissue is everywhere and runs in layers and connects your body together to allow you to have physical definition and function. It holds skin to the body, it locks muscles when they have been injured and hardens when you feel stress and/or tension.
How does fascia get stuck?
Scarring from an injury or surgery
Dehydrated - the fascia shrinks
Choice of nutrition
Stress and tension
Any type of physical or mental trauma.
How to release it.
Fascia release techniques involves skin on skin contact (no oil) where by soft pressure is applied to the fascia, in return this helps the fascia release. You will experience muscle twitches, warm and tingling sensations, feels like your skin is stretching when its physically not it's the fascia and will leave redness on the skin for a few minutes.
This is a gentler massage than sport massage therapy but they will compliment each other by releasing your trigger points and ultimately reducing pain from an injury, increased mobility and reduces stress.
