Movement for longevity ✨
The anti-ageing workout that doesn’t involve a gym

One thing researchers consistently notice in the world’s longest-living communities?

They don’t spend hours in the gym. They simply move more throughout daily life.

Walking. Stretching. Gardening. Carrying shopping. Sitting on the floor. Getting back up again.

Movement isn’t something they “fit in” — it’s part of how they live.

As we age, maintaining strength, balance and mobility becomes one of the most important things we can do for long-term health and independence.

A few simple ways to support healthy ageing:

✔️ Strength train twice a week
✔️ Walk daily (especially after meals)
✔️ Stretch and mobilise your joints regularly
✔️ Reduce long periods of sitting
✔️ Practise getting up and down from the floor
✔️ Add “exercise snacks” into your day — squats while the kettle boils, stair climbs, short walks

One of the simplest indicators of healthy ageing is something called the sit-to-stand test:

Can you lower yourself to the floor and stand back up without using your hands?

It’s not about perfection. It’s about maintaining the strength, mobility and confidence to move well through life.

Healthy ageing doesn’t require extreme workouts.
