A soldier with PTSD fell into a hole and couldn’t get out. When a SNCO walked by the Soldier called out for help, but the SNCO yelled back, "Suck it up son, dig deep and drive on," then threw him a shovel. The Soldier did as he was told and dug that hole deeper.

A Senior Officer went by and the Soldier called out for help again. The Officer told him "use the tools your SNCO has given you", then threw him a bucket. The Soldier used the tools and he dug the hole deeper still and filled the bucket.

A psychiatrist walked by. The Soldier called, “Help! I can’t get out!” so the psychiatrist gave him some drugs and said, "Take this. It will relieve the pain and you will forget about the hole.” The Soldier said "thanks" and followed his advice, but when the pills ran out he was still in the hole.

A well-known psychologist rode by and heard the Soldiers cries for help. He stopped and asked, “How did you get there? Were you born there? Did your parents put you there? Tell me about yourself, it will alleviate your sense of loneliness.” So the Soldier talked with him for an hour, then the psychologist had to leave, but he said he’d be back next week. The Soldier thanked him, but he was still in the hole.

Another Soldier , just like him, happened to be passing by. The Soldier with PTSD cried out, “Hey, help me. I’m stuck in this hole!” and right away the other Soldier jumped down in there with him. The Soldier with PTSD started to panic and said, “What are you doing? Now we’re both stuck down here!” But the other Soldier just smiled and replied, “It’s okay, calm down, brother. I’ve been here before..... I know how to get out.”

No matter what you're going through, you are never alone.

But don't be too proud to SHOUT OUT!, 'HELP I'm stuck in this Hole' …...

We all get stuck in a hole from time to time but all it takes is to ask your mates for help and we will be there even if we have to jump in that hole with you. 😉

Three years ago, Fife Medical Group was recognised with the prestigious Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.

As a veteran started business this was more than just another award. It represented something we have always believed in: recognising, supporting and creating opportunities for those who have served our country.

To be recognised among just 193 employers across the UK was an incredibly proud moment. Even more importantly one of only 11 employers in the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association area.

Three years on, the memories remain, and so does our commitment to our Armed Forces community.

This Sunday, our students return to the Fife Medical Group Training Academy for Day 3 of their Highfield Level 3 Emergency First Responder course!

Another day of developing essential emergency care skills, building clinical knowledge and gaining the confidence to respond effectively when every second counts.

It's fantastic to see the commitment, enthusiasm and friendships developing within the group.

❤️ NEARLY A MONTH ON. NEW LEADERSHIP. A NEW CHAPTER FOR FIFE MEDICAL GROUP. 🚑

Almost a month ago, we announced one of the biggest changes in the history of Fife Medical Group.

After years of building, developing and leading the organisation, Michael made the difficult decision to step away and concentrate on his health and wellbeing.

For many, it was unexpected. For those closest to him, it was a decision that had become necessary.

But one thing was made absolutely clear.

Fife Medical Group was never about one person.

And nearly a month later, that message remains as important as ever.

❤️ JACQUELINE IS LEADING. KAI IS SUPPORTING. TEAM FMG ARE DELIVERING.

Under Jacqueline's leadership, the focus continues to be on strengthening the organisation, developing our people, maintaining our standards and building a sustainable future.

She's not trying to recreate Michael's leadership.

She's establishing her own.

Her decisions. Her direction. Her standards.

And that's exactly what this new chapter was supposed to be about.

Across our event medical operations, ambulance provision and Training Academy, the commitment to delivering professional services remains unchanged.

Of course, leadership transitions bring challenges. Change takes time, and no organisation gets everything right every single day.

But progress isn't about pretending everything is perfect.

It's about taking responsibility, making decisions, learning and continuing to move forward.

To our staff, clinicians, clients, suppliers and supporters, thank you for continuing to stand alongside FMG.

And to Michael, the foundations you built remain. Now it's time to look after yourself and allow others to carry the responsibility.

Stepping away from leadership doesn't erase what you built. And a new leader doesn't diminish what came before.

It simply means the organisation has entered another stage in its journey.
