What have been the lessons from this past week? Lesson one, Claire says “Lord Have Mercy”, a lot. Lesson two, Frédérique’s nickname is triple shot Frédérique. If you are curious what that means, pop by Time Art Café and ask Eshan for “a Frédérique 😉.” Lesson three, look for balloons, not stones, which leads us to lesson four, community is everything.

Lesson four has been five years in the learning and it is what has brought us to where we are now. Lesson five, bricks and mortar do not healing create. It is a community looking for healing, it is the therapists whose vocation is healing and it is trust that healing can happen. The body does not lie.

Long after the mind has moved on, rationalised, and rebuilt - the body is still holding the original record. The chronic tension. The shallow breath. The inexplicable response to an ordinary moment. These are not character flaws or signs of fragility. They are the imprints of unprocessed experience, stored in the tissues, the fascia, the nervous system itself.

Somatic release is not a trend. It is a return to what the body already knows how to do - complete the stress cycle, discharge the held charge, and restore the nervous system to a state of genuine safety rather than managed survival.

We were not designed to carry stress indefinitely. We were designed to move through it.
