On 23 June, our latest webinar 'Maternity Care at a Crossroads – Progress, Scrutiny and the Road Ahead' will take place.
The webinar is exclusively for FNF Academy members, alumni and current scholars and will explore progress on improving maternity care in England. We will look at what progress looks like in practice, and where gaps persist, across safety, workforce, inequalities, and service experience. It will provide a balanced and practical discussion of the realities facing maternity services today, while highlighting implications for leadership, policy, and frontline practice.
We will be joined by the authors of 2026 Nuffield Trust explainer: 'Is England making progress to improve maternity care?' Stephanie Kumpunen Senior Fellow; Nuffield Trust and Rebecca Best, Midwife and Public Health Registrar (UKHSA).
We will also be joined by a midwifery panel sharing thoughts, experiences and expertise on this topic including Rosemary Idiaghe, Director of Midwifery, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
