Hello everyone,
This week is all about self-compassion and how to cultivate it. Please join me and discover what a magical tool it can be!

I have recently published a new article on my website that puts in evidence the healing power of self-compassion in therapy. I hope you will enjoy it x.

In a society that is so much focused on results, outcomes and progress, I often feel there is little room left to care for ourselves. It is not often that we feel aligned with our inner self, or that we feel the flow. It is now more common to struggle than to feel good- as somebody has recently said 'it looks like we live in a pandemic of anxiety, depression and burnout'.

Couple of years ago, I discovered compassion focused therapy through my clinical supervisor. Since then, I fell in love with it. I feel it translates what I want to say and it matches my therapeutic style. I always look for trainings, books and resources to make sure I use it at its best, so please get in touch if you are interested in something unusual, new and purely amazing x.

From my experience, the main reasons people hesitate to come to therapy are:

đź’”financial pressure
đź’” lack of time
đź’” stigma
đź’” fear of feeling awkward
đź’” pride
đź’” not feeling 'sick' enough to need help

Therapy can be culturally very different perceived. And I came to witness this by working and gaining experience in different countries, with different population. This is how I realised that people sometimes find it hard to see the benefits of therapy due to fear of unknown, fear of wasting money, fear of putting themselves first, of being judged and sometimes even due to pride. But people who manage to go beyond all of those factors, people who become open enough to allow themselves to experience that vulnerable state are the ones who manage to call a therapist and book an appointment. Acting as one doesn't need therapy, it can sometimes only represent a proof of low self-confidence and fear. Fear of change...This can be a great defense mechanism and I would like to help you understand your own defense mechanisms in a different post. They can be both amazingly helpful and awfully destructive. But how!?
