With temperatures reaching over 30°C next week, here are a few ways to help keep your cats cool and comfortable☀️
Cats can get very hot in summer and don’t cool down the same way humans do.. they mainly regulate temperature through grooming and only sweat from small areas like their paws. While cats are usually good at seeking out cooler spots and resting in heat, they can still be at risk of heat stress or heat stroke🐱
In warmer months, cats may also sleep even more than usual (up to 20–22 hours a day) which can mean they become more active at night. If they get the zoomies or wake you up for attention, try to stay patient and relaxed… it’s just their way of adjusting to the heat 🐾
