If you’re moving through a transition in your life, this space is for you.

Martha Beck, a bestselling author and Harvard-trained sociologist, describes transformation as a four-stage cycle from letting go of who we were to becoming who we are meant to be.

I love this framework because it reminds us that transformation isn’t linear. There are moments of falling apart, imagining, trying, failing, rebuilding and eventually, arriving somewhere new.

In my upcoming group on transitions and transformation, I’ll be sharing my own creative framework and using the Creative Subconscious method to help you explore what you’re ready to leave behind, what wants to emerge and who you are becoming.

Everything you are looking for is already here. It’s a matter of having the space, the tools, the community to see it, to embody it, to live it.

What do we do with fear?

We move with it.

Fear can narrow our attention and pull us toward what feels familiar. Movement can interrupt that pattern, shift our state, and open space for new possibilities.

That is where creative intelligence begins, not only in the thinking mind, but in the body’s ability to sense, adapt, imagine, and respond.

And science is beginning to support what our bodies may already know:

A 2026 analysis of 23 studies found that walking had a significant positive effect on divergent thinking the part of creativity that helps us generate new ideas.

In another study, 75% of participants experienced lower cortisol after just 45 minutes of making art, regardless of their artistic experience.

Movement may not erase fear. But it can help us relate to it differently with more curiosity, choice, and possibility.

You don’t have to wait until fear disappears before you create.

Sometimes, moving with fear is how creativity begins.

An art historian in me can never pass by a hidden gem — and Syon House is one of those places that deserves far more attention.

With nearly 600 years of history, Syon stands on the site of a medieval Bridgettine abbey and has been home to the Percy family since 1594. Its magnificent interiors were transformed by Robert Adam, while the surrounding landscape was shaped by Capability Brown. (Syon Park)

Come for the architecture, but stay for the details: the original furniture, paintings, sculpture, extraordinary decorative arts and those unmistakable Adam interiors. Every room feels like another chapter in the history of British taste.

And then there are the gardens. 🌿 The spectacular Great Conservatory, designed by Charles Fowler in the 1820s, was pioneering for its time — an astonishingly delicate structure of iron and glass that still feels almost futuristic two centuries later. (RHS)

Perhaps my favourite detail: on Sundays and Bank Holidays, Syon House is open for self-guided visits, so you can wander through the rooms at your own pace rather than joining a guided tour. (Syon Park)

All of this is in West London, close to Heathrow — history, art, architecture and beautiful parkland without having to venture far from the city.

Definitely one for the list if, like me, you can never resist a beautiful historic house. ✨
