Keloid treatment doesn’t always end with the first treatment - follow ups matter.

This patient originally had her keloid treated through the NHS, but unfortunately received no follow up. The keloid subsequently recurred, leading her to seek private care.

Dr Ghani has now taken over her treatment, with a focus on both treating the recurrence and providing ongoing monitoring and care.

The NHS provides an invaluable service, but some conditions, particularly keloids, which can recur, require consistent follow up and ongoing management.

Treating the problem is one thing. Managing it properly over time is another.

This patient presented with significant, raised keloid scarring across the posterior scalp and hairline.

In this case, Dr Ghani surgically excised the affected scar tissue, removing the extensive abnormal tissue as part of the treatment.

Keloids can be complex and have a tendency to recur, making careful assessment, treatment planning and follow-up essential.

When a keloid reaches this size, it can have a significant impact, both physically and emotionally. 🤍

Scalp keloids can develop following repeated irritation or trauma, particularly from close haircuts, clippers, shaving, ingrown hairs or small cuts.

This large scalp keloid was treated by Dr Ghani, with the aim of removing the excess scar tissue and restoring a smoother contour to the scalp.

Keloids can be challenging to treat and may recur, so appropriate assessment and aftercare are essential.
