Hellos and Highlights: Abbeydale Court

This week's Highlight: Caroline Roberts, Kelly Howell and Mark S. spending time at Abbeydale Court with Home Manager Grace Sloane and her brilliant team.

Being in the homes isn't an occasional visit for our senior leadership team; it's how we do things. We can't truly support our residents and colleagues from behind a desk, so getting to know the homes, the residents, and the team’s first hand is simply part of the job.

More homes, more faces, more highlights to come.

The Next Chapter: Written Together

New ownership. New faces. One shared purpose.

Last month, our Home Managers gathered for our first workshop since the acquisition to meet the newest additions to our senior leadership team. Caroline Roberts, our new CEO, shared her vision for Abbey Healthcare and left us in no doubt about one thing above all: we never compromise on care.

Beyond that, it was about getting to know each other properly, including our personal communication styles. Taking real stock of what's already going right across our homes. And working through the priorities ahead. There was even a team challenge that looked simple enough on paper and turned out to be anything but.

We left with something rare after a big change: a feeling of genuine optimism for what's next. The next chapter of Abbey Healthcare isn't being written for us. It's being written together.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Julie, Wellbeing Coordinator at Elmcroft Care Home, who has officially conquered her fears and completed her incredible skydive! 🎉
After months of fundraising with the amazing support of our residents, families, colleagues and local community, Julie took the leap, raising an incredible £1,378.75 for St Helena Hospice! 💙

Julie stepped far outside her comfort zone to support a cause close to her heart, helping raise vital funds for the hospice and the compassionate care it provides to people and families across North Essex.

We are incredibly proud of you, Julie! What an achievement - you really did take courage to new heights! 🪂👏💙

We are incredibly proud of our wonderful Wellbeing Coordinator, Julie Stone, Elmcroft Care Home, who will be joining BBC Essex Radio live tomorrow, 7th of August to share her inspiring fundraising journey. 🎙️📻

Julie is taking on an incredible skydiving challenge, which she is doing on the 8th of August, to raise vital funds for St Helena Hospice, a cause that is very close to her heart. Through her dedication and determination, Julie has already raised an amazing £800+ towards this important charity. 💙

During her interview, Julie will be sharing the story behind her challenge, why she chose to support St Helena Hospice, and what has inspired her throughout this journey.
