We were away for less than a week, and when we left there were hardly any roses out. We came back and the garden seems to have exploded into bloom!

I couldn’t remember all the names while filming, but I’ve checked the labels since:

Lady of Shalott (David Austin) – the orangey-coloured one that I showed second.
Roald Dahl (David Austin) - rhe peachy/apricot coloured one
Eustacia Vye (David Austin) – these were the ones I stopped to smell and said were incredible. I’ve got three of them, they’re absolutely covered in flowers and the fragrance is amazing. I think they could be my favourite ❤️

I’m not sure what some of the others are, but these were the ones that still had their labels on!

For anyone who enjoys gardening, I thought I’d share. And isn’t summer just the best time of year? Nothing beats seeing the garden come alive after a few days away☀️

A little word of advice from me: if you’re travelling with children, don’t try and be clever and do hand luggage only. I genuinely thought I’d cracked the code. Turns out, dragging multiple cases through an airport with three kids is not the life hack I thought it was (thanks, Pete 👀).

This is the point where I accept all the “I told you so’s” from those of you who knew this was a terrible idea from the start✈️🤣

Final night of our holiday we went to a lovely restaurant, but I didn’t want to dress up too much. I absolutely loved this dress from Bershka though!

P.S. Yes, I did go out with wet hair 😂 I’ve got far too much hair to spend half my evening blow-drying it!

And that’s a wrap on Portugal 🇵🇹

We had such a lovely time away, lots of good food, sunshine and quality time together. The kids have had the best holiday and we’ve made some really special memories. That said, as nice as it is to get away, it’s always nice to come home too. Back to our own beds, a bit of routine and (slightly less exciting) grey England 😂

We had the best time in Portugal over half term. From beach days, lots of food and family time, here’s a little look at what we got up to.

And for anyone curious about the hand luggage-only situation… don’t worry, I’ve got an update coming soon ✈️😂

The one thing about travelling with hand luggage only is the liquids situation, shampoo and suncream we usually take full-size as they’re allowed through most airports, then leave behind before we come home. But for all my lotions and bits I know I’ll only use a tiny amount of, decanting into little pots it is 🤣

Surely I’m not the only one who packs half a suitcase full of toddler snacks for a holiday. And of course, a kitchen sponge too 😂 🧽
