I've watched someone go from not being able to leave the house to walking on the beach.
Not with magic.
Not with a lightning-bolt moment.
With reps.
She wasn't dealing with "a bit of anxiety."
She was in the kind of place where leaving the front door felt impossible.
Genuinely stuck.
And here's the bit that matters.
What helped her move forward wasn't some complicated, years-long excavation.
It was learning a set of skills and practising them.
Recognise the pattern firing.
Interrupt it.
Choose a different response.
Repeat.
Again and again.
Until your nervous system starts responding differently without you having to fight it every time.
The severity of anxiety can change what those reps look like and how you approach them.
But the skills you're building are the same.
Understanding what was happening mattered.
But understanding alone didn't get her to the beach.
Practising new skills did.
So when someone tells me:
"My anxiety is too bad for this."
I don't automatically accept that as the end of the story.
You don't have to wait until your anxiety becomes "manageable" before you can start learning a different response.
You start where you are.
One rep.
Then another.
And over time, those reps can add up to something that once felt impossible.
Sometimes, they add up to walking on the beach.
If you're reading this and thinking, "Could I actually do this too?" message me.
Let's talk about where you are now and what moving forward could look like.
