ABOUT ME
I first participated in Yoga practice over twenty seven years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter with Janet Balaskas at The Active Birth Centre. After a wonderfully successful birthing experience I was hooked and regularly attended classes in and around West London and at countryside retreats. I completed Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Campus May 2018 and taught at: St Benedict’s Sc
hool Ealing, Genesis Mind & Body, Fitness First, St Peter’s Church Portobello Road, Jack Wills Head Office, Deloitte Digital, Group sessions in Chiswick W4 and One to One sessions in West London. Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning Yoke or Union, it is an ancient practice that brings mind & body together. Yoga has many benefits on both mental and physical health. It can...
- Decrease stress
- Relieve anxiety
- Increase flexibility
- Increase muscle & strength tone
- Improve cardio & circulatory health
- Enhance digestion
- Cultivate respiration, energy & vitality
- Refine balance
- Maintain a balanced metabolism
- Regulate sleep patterns
My teaching follows a Hatha Vinyasa slow flow approach. The asanas (poses) are refined and strengthened without rushing onto the next move. The slow flow allows you to become familiar with your body, creating reflective pauses and creating time to go inward. The practice will include breathing exercises, Pranayama. Meditation - promoting a greater sense of calm, relaxation, clarity and focus. Asana, poses which will be initiated on the breath. I am also a fully qualified Reflexologist, practising for the past 15 years and often find that both paths intertwine, especially in standing asanas where poses are built from the feet up. Deborah is also a fully qualified Reflexologist. https://www.facebook.com/DeborahWalkerReflexology
