An early morning by the sea 🙏❤️ watching the waves, shifting focus to the horizon, embracing the quiet. A wonderful before I head home.

There’s a reason why a simple walk and talk with a friend can solve problems that sitting at a desk or table can’t.

Rhythmic walking creates bilateral stimulation in the brain—helping your nervous system untangle stress while your feet keep moving.

Plus, walking shoulder to shoulder removes pressure, making it easier to share what’s on your mind.

Add in the calm of the trees, running water and fresh air, and you have a complete somatic reset!

Swap the coffee shop chair for a quiet park path this week and notice how your perspective shifts.

I had a bag of frozen sweet potatoes that I had roasted and blended to avoid wasting them- I blend with the skins on to add fibre!

✅ 120g smooth almond butter (or peanut butter)
✅ 40g raw cacao powder
✅ 2 tbsp ground flax seeds
✅ 1–2 tbsp pure maple syrup
✅ 1 tsp vanilla extract
✅ pinch of sea salt

Method:
1. Whisk the thawed sweet potato purĂŠe, eggs, and nut butter together in a bowl until smooth.
2. Fold in the cacao powder, ground flaxseed, vanilla, and salt until a thick batter forms.
3. Spoon into a lined 8x8-inch baking tin or silicone muffin cups.
4. Bake at 180°C (160°C Fan) for 22–25 minutes until set. Let them cool completely in the fridge—they become intensely fudgy when chilled.

I caught the new Frida Kahlo exhibition Tate yesterday and it was a powerful reminder: women need space to create!

Not just 10 rushed minutes between chores, laundry and dealing with life admin — but real, uninterrupted mental spaciousness.

The relentless ‘always-on’ nature of domestic life creates a subtle, chronic cognitive strain. When your brain is constantly monitoring everyone else’s needs, your own creative fire gets pushed to the very bottom of the list.

Art, writing, movement and deep thought require a quiet nervous system. They require us to step out of the domestic loop and hold a boundary around our time, just as Frida held her own frame.

You don’t need permission to carve out space for your own intellect and creativity. It is essential for your wellbeing.

When was the last time you gave yourself a chunk of time with zero domestic demands?

Today marks the peak of the 8/8 Lion’s Gate Portal—a potent time when the Sun in Leo aligns with the rising star Sirius, creating a cosmic window for heart-centered clarity, courage and realigning with your personal power.

If you want to harness this energy today and anchor your intentions into action, here are four grounded practices to try:

1️⃣ Step Into Stillness: Spend 10–15 minutes in quiet reflection or meditation. Focus on breathing into your heart space, letting go of internal noise, and connecting with what truly matters to you right now.

2️⃣ Write with Absolute Clarity: write your intentions in the present tense, as if they are already your reality. Focus on how you want to feel—embodying confidence, peace and self-sovereignty.

3️⃣ Focus on Heart-Led Goals: Leo energy centers on courage and authentic expression. Ask yourself: Where have I been holding back? What project, boundary, or truth am I ready to step into?

4️⃣ Commit to One Small Action: Alignment isn’t just about setting intentions; it’s about taking grounded action. Choose one clear, practical step you can take today to move toward what you are creating.

More than just a day out—it’s a biological reset. ☀️🌊

We tend to think of a beach day as a treat or an escape, but for your mind and body, it’s a deeply restorative somatic therapy session.

When you spend a day by the coast, your body receives a powerful combination of natural healing inputs:

☀️ Circadian Realignment: Natural sunlight absorbed through your eyes and skin regulates melatonin production, setting you up for deep, restorative sleep tonight.

👣 Barefoot Earthing: Walking barefoot on wet sand discharges built-up static electrical energy, reducing systemic inflammation and grounding your nervous system.

🫁 Negative Ion Therapy: Coastal air is rich in oxygen-charged negative ions created by breaking waves, boosting serotonin and clearing mental fog.

🧠 Visual Horizon Therapy: Looking out at a vast, open sea horizon signals safety to your primitive brain, instantly dropping your brainwaves out of “high-alert” mode.

🧂 Salt & Sun Co-Regulation: The warmth of the sun paired with salt water on your skin helps lower cortisol and soften physical muscle tension.

A day at the beach doesn’t just clear your calendar—it resets your entire nervous system.
When was the last time you gave yourself a full day by the water? 🐚👇🏼

Sea Water over Pool Water Every Time 🌊✨

Chlorine has its place, but sea water does something a pool never could—it heals you from the inside out.

Floating in the sea isn’t just a swim; it’s a total nervous system reset:

🧪 Living Mineral Therapy: Sea water is rich in magnesium, potassium and calcium, absorbing through your skin to soothe muscles and reduce inflammation.

🧠 Nervous System Release: The natural salt buoyancy creates effortless weightlessness, signaling to your brain that it’s safe to drop out of “fight or flight.”

🌿 Microbiome Friendly: No harsh chemicals or chlorine—just pure, living water that works with your skin’s natural biology.

✨ The Ultimate Reset: Combined with sea air rich in negative ions, a dip in the ocean acts as an instant pattern interrupt for mental stress.

When you surrender to the sea, you let nature co-regulate your entire body.

Are you team ocean or team pool?

such fun!

A reminder that humans are wired for connection. Something that might seem a bit silly creates community 🙏❤️

We spend so much of our daily lives in what psychologists call the ‘Red Mind’ state—an overstimulated, high-alert, digital state driven by stress hormones, notifications and endless to-do lists.

Stepping into ‘Blue Space’—near oceans, lakes or harbours— creates a neurochemical shift:

🧠 Reduced Cognitive Load: The repetitive, gentle motion of water gives our brain’s visual processing centers a rest, lowering mental fatigue.

🌿 Somatic Grounding: The golden light and expansive horizon trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, slowing your heart rate and deepening your breath.

✨ Spaciousness: In NLP, we talk about changing your internal representation. Being by the sea breaks the psychological feeling of being “boxed in,” allowing your thoughts space to expand and settle.

You don’t need to swim or be active to benefit from Blue Space. Sometimes, simply sitting by the water, watching the sun dip, and letting the ocean take the weight of your day is the most radical self-care you can practice.
