What does a Soundworks sound session feel like? Yesterday I bumped into a wonderful soul who regularly comes to sessions - we enjoyed a little catch up and then before I left she said “your sessions have become a really important part of my journey” and I could have had a little joyful cry right there and then. To hear how the sessions I host fuel, nurture and support the people who attend is such a privilege. Thank you for sharing these words ✨

Everyday Sounds - a series. A cat's purrrrrr 🐈 Such a wonderful, rounded, full and comforting sound. Some suggest it's a healing! Small studies show consistency in purrs being between 25-150hz, which correpsonds to some specifc frequency treatments for pain. Eitherway, I sure do enjoy this sound 💛

Drums and gongs - two of my favourite ways to invite the body into the present moment.

There’s something beautifully grounding about the drum, and something deeply expansive about the gong. Together, they create a space that can feel earthy, powerful, spacious and still.

Percussion, vibration, resonance… all the good stuff :)

A moment before everyone arrives - the stillness before the sound ✨

Candles glowing, flowers placed, instruments waiting quietly in the space. There’s always something really special about these moments before a session begins - I enjoy a moment to myself in this stillness, before welcoming everyone.

The spaces that these sessions are held in are important. The atmosphere and the intention behind every little detail all matter - they support our experience together.

Soon this room will be filled with beautiful people, layers and waves of sound, and rest 💛

I often look around the room before a session begins and remember the journey - a moment of gratitude for how this has become 'what I do' as part of this wonderful expereince ✨

Everything is done with care and intention...
The instruments laid out carefully.
The lighting set to create a soft atmosphere
A space created to be welcoming, ready to hold people exactly as they are that evening.

Every venue carries a different energy and personality, and part of what I love most is shaping each session around that. Different rooms, different acoustics, different communities gathering together for a shared moment of rest.

Soon this room will be filled, but this quiet moment beforehand - I love that part too 💛
