Come and meet your Membership Services Team at Conference 👋

They’re the ones behind the emails, the calls, the guidance—and the steady support through all the ups and downs of practice. Now it’s your chance to come over and say hello in person.

The team would love to chat, answer your questions, and spend some proper face-to-face time with you. They’re genuinely excited to meet you all—so do pop by and connect with the people who are here for you every step of your membership journey.

Meet the team:
Lucia Misikova
Senior Membership Officer
Lucia supports members throughout their time with us, helping you access the information, advice, and guidance you need for your practice. Alongside the Membership Manager, she’s a key point of contact—making sure your voice is heard and reflected in everything we do.

Adam Lambe
Membership Support Officer
Adam is often the friendly voice at the end of the phone line and the first point of contact for many new members, helping guide them through the application process and settling them into membership. Working closely with Lucia, he supports members with day-to-day enquiries, making sure questions are heard and dealt with quickly to best support your practice.

Tanja Raaste
Membership Manager
Tanja leads the membership team and systems, ensuring the BAcC membership offer stays relevant, valuable, and responsive. From guiding new applicants through admissions to supporting existing members, she’s passionate about quality, engagement, and fostering a strong, supportive community.

We’re a busy team—supporting everything from new applications to everyday member queries—but at the heart of it all is you. 💚💙💚💙💚

Happy Friday! Acupuncture has been well and truly in the news recently with big features in the New York Times, National Geographic and the Economist. And, darewesayit - it looks like biomedicine is slowly catching up with the wisdom of this ancient, effective, and evidence-based medicine! Have you had a chance to read any of the articles? If so, what did you think? All three pieces are paywalled unfortunately, but you can read a full response to the Economist article, which asked 'Does acupuncture work?' on our website. In short, the answer is, of course, a resounding YES! Interestingly, they recently used the article as an ad which has some very entertaining comments, well worth a read! For more fascinating discussions about the latest developments and research, one week from today we will be gathering at our annual UK Conference of Chinese Medicine, in Milton Keynes, so we hope to see you there. Drop a comment in the chat if you're attending!

⏳ Only 2 days left to book for the UKCCM26 ⏳

In today’s countdown video, BAcC CEO Alex Jacobs shares his excitement about this year’s incredible speaker line-up — and admits he’s especially looking forward to getting his A Manual of Acupuncture signed by BOTH authors during their special joint session 👀📘
This year’s conference theme explores the many inner landscapes of Chinese medicine — from the microbiome and the channel sinews to emotional terrain, trauma, dermatology and the deeper cultivation of clinical presence.

And what a line-up we have to guide us through it ✨

✨ Plus:
• Migraine, PTSD, gut health, EDS, shoulder pain & more
• Live case discussions and diagnostic panels
• The first-ever united UK academic journals panel
• And a full weekend reconnecting with your acupuncture community 🥰

📚 5 days left to book for the UKCCM26 📚

In today’s countdown video, Ian Appleyard shares what he’s most looking forward to at conference — all of us coming together to learn, reflect and return to clinic with fresh insight and practical tools we can immediately use.
This year’s theme of inner landscapes runs throughout the programme — exploring the body not as isolated symptoms, but as interconnected terrain shaped by physiology, emotion, structure, environment and experience.

✨ Longer sessions mean speakers have the time to really dive into these subjects in depth — sharing practical clinical knowledge, nuanced reasoning and years of lived experience.
From:
• Ear visual diagnosis and Auricular therapy
• Channel palpation & MSK assessment
• Trauma & PTSD
• Gut health & the microbiome
• Iron deficiency & chronic modern presentations
• Daoist art-based practice & qigong
…this is thoughtful, clinically relevant learning designed to deepen both your understanding and your practice 🌿

🎉 Only 7 days left to book for the UKCCM26 🎉

Our Membership Support Officer Adam Lambe is counting down the days until conference — and honestly? He’s most excited about seeing familiar faces, meeting new people and soaking up the brilliant atmosphere all weekend 🥰

Because conference isn’t just about learning facts and protocols — it’s about reconnecting with the people who help shape our professional and personal inner landscapes too 🌿

This year’s programme explores Chinese medicine through themes of landscape, connection and terrain:
✨ the microbiome as a living ecosystem
✨ the three dantian as internal landscapes
✨ channel sinews and fascia pathways
✨ and how trauma, emotion and physiology shape the body’s terrain
AND… Adam revealed we’ve booked a live band for Saturday night 👀🎶
Introducing Estrella’s Party Band — bringing everything from 60s classics to modern favourites 💃🕺

✨ Deep clinical learning by day.
✨ Proper conference party energy by night.

🔥 The women of UKCCM26 are bringing BIG subjects, deep clinical wisdom and some truly unique sessions this year 🔥

We’re talking:

✨ A beautiful creative exploration of the dantian through the Japanese floating ink art form suminagashi with Rev Deb Connor / Monk Li Xiào Yì 笑意 FBAcC
✨ Iron deficiency & modern chronic presentations with Julie Reynolds FBAcC
✨ Landscape-style diagnosis & complex digestive/mood presentations with Cinzia Scorzon MBAcC
✨ Addiction recovery, rehab & detoxification with Rebecca Tolhurst
✨ EDS, hypermobility & meridian sensitivity with Frances Turner MPhil MBAcC MRCHM
These aren’t rushed lectures either 👀
Our longer session format means speakers have the space to really dive deep — sharing practical clinical knowledge, nuanced thinking and the kind of wisdom that only comes from years in practice.

And then there’s the social side 🥰
A whole weekend of learning, reconnecting, laughing, sharing clinic stories and spending time with people who just get it.

⏳ Only 14 days left to book- booking close on the 22 May
And yes… and judging by this video, I’m now officially begging you all to stop procrastinating and get yourselves booked on 😂
