💻 Have you caught up on Kieran Dally and Stephane Barthelemi's webinar?

In this European Board of Orthodontics case presentation, Kieran Daly (Ireland) presents the treatment of a 12-year-old patient with a Class II Division 1 malocclusion and a missing upper central incisor following trauma. The case explores maxillary expansion, skeletal anchorage, space closure, tooth substitution, camouflage mechanics and digital smile design, highlighting the value of careful interdisciplinary planning in achieving stable functional and aesthetic outcomes.

Learning outcomes:
✏️ Understand the diagnostic and treatment planning considerations for a growing patient with a Class II Division 1 malocclusion and missing maxillary central incisor.
✏️ Explore the use of maxillary expansion, skeletal anchorage, premolar extraction and camouflage mechanics in managing complex orthodontic cases.
✏️ Evaluate space closure and tooth substitution as alternatives to anterior implant placement in adolescent patients.
✏️ Appreciate the role of interdisciplinary collaboration and digital smile design in achieving stable, functional and aesthetic outcomes.

One of orthodontics’ most debated and least resolved challenges. While “secure occlusion” and defined occlusal concepts are widely taught and pursued, the scientific evidence linking occlusal quality to lasting stability remains inconsistent.

for a critical review of the latest research on occlusion and orthodontic stability. Discover how to separate evidence-based findings from long-standing clinical assumptions and educational traditions. Experience a dynamic, structured scientific dialogue between two complementary clinical perspectives — one precision-driven and evidence-focused, the other challenging established dogmas — offering fresh insights into treatment planning.

Engage in real-time with the audience through a fast QR-code polling system, allowing you to see how your clinical beliefs compare with current scientific evidence as it unfolds.

By combining expert discussion, cutting-edge research, and interactive audience input, this session will clarify the true role of occlusion in orthodontic stability and inspire a more nuanced, biologically informed approach to defining treatment goals — moving beyond simplified cause-and-effect models.
