The ParkBathe Rainbow challenge 🌳
If like us you remember the colours of the rainbow as a childhood mnemonic, don’t worry, as this ParkBathe challenge is ridiculously simple.
Go outside and find: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet colours in that order.
That’s it.
As you walk to the shops or on your way home from work or walking the dog in Grangewood park, put your phone away. Walk a little slower. Look underneath things, around things. Scan to your left and right. Look up. Suddenly a route you may have walked hundreds of times contains details you hadn’t seen before.
A berry might give you red, a leaf underfoot might be yellow. Blue could be the sky (if you’re lucky) and if violet turns out to be tricky, you can be creative. We live in an urbanised world so manmade colours are all around us too. The point isn’t to identify plants. It’s what happens when you give your attention something different to look for…
If looking a little closer appeals to you, why not join Kelly and Janet, our lovely community team for a free, slow, guided sensory ParkBathe walk this Saturday 5th September - 11am - Grangewood Park 🌳
We are rolling out the option to just “show up” at our walks now so they become more accessible to everyone. You can still pre-book (via bio), but if you’d rather wait until the day - pop along and meet us at the Wharncliffe/Ross Road entrance to Grangewood park ten minutes beforehand. 🌲🌲🌲
