If you feel guilty for resting, this is probably why you’re struggling to progress…

Because more isn’t always better…

If you’re constantly adding more and more workouts, more steps, more cardio and more restrictions, but then you’re exhausted, stuck or feeling guilty for resting…

You might not need to do more.

You might need to recover properly..

Your body doesn’t need punishment to make progress.

It needs enough food, training it can actually recover from, and consistency.

*** Save this for the days you feel like you need to do more.

Sometimes, something can come back into your life and make you question everything….

You think… oh.. maybe this time will be different.

So you give it another chance.

And then another.

And another.

Even though, deep down, you already know how the story ends…

I’ve recently had a real-life reminder of just how painful that cycle can be…

And it made me realise something…

Giving something more chances doesn’t always mean you’re hopeful…

Sometimes it means you’re holding onto the hope of an outcome that the evidence has already told you isn’t coming…

And honestly, I think we do this in so many areas of our lives…

Especially with our health and fitness.

We keep going back to the same restrictive diets..

The same “Monday I’ll start again.”
The same all-or-nothing approach.
The same plan that works when life is calm, but completely falls apart when work gets busy, the kids need you, you go on holiday, or life simply… happens.

And every time it doesn’t work, we blame ourselves…

We say…
I need more discipline.
I need to try harder.
Why can’t I just stick to it?

But what if the problem was never you?

What if you’ve just been trying to make the wrong approach work for your actual life?

Because sometimes the answer isn’t to give it another chance….

Sometimes the answer is to stop repeating the cycle and choose a completely different path…

One that works with your life instead of demanding that your life work around it…

You don’t need to become a different person to reach your goals.

You need a plan that fits the person and the life you already have…

And maybe that’s the real transformation?

Not becoming better at starting over…
but finally building something you don’t need to keep starting over from…

If you keep falling off your plan, maybe consistency isn’t actually your problem..

It might be because your plan only works when life is going really well and according to schedule.

You know how the cycle looks like…

You start with the best intentions.
You’re organised.
You’re motivated.
You’re determined that this time you’ll stick to it.
And then…
Then work gets busy.
You’re tired.
The kids, family, friends need you.
You have plans at the weekend.
You miss a workout.
You eat something that wasn’t “on plan”.

And instead of adjusting to the situation, you think:
“I’ve ruined it now.”
“I’m so bad at being consistent.”
“I’ll start again Monday.”

Does this sound familiar?

I see this all the time.

People who are actually really disciplined and organised constantly blaming themselves because they can’t follow a plan that literally leaves no room for real life…

The problem isn’t always your motivation.

Sometimes, the plan is simply too rigid to survive your real life.

Because a plan that only works on your perfect week isn’t a sustainable plan.

You need to know what to do when you’re busy.
What to do when you’re tired.
What to do when you miss a session.
What to do when the week doesn’t go to plan.

That’s the difference between constantly starting over and actually building consistency.

You don’t need to be more disciplined.
You need a plan of action that works with your life, not against it.

And honestly, this is one of the biggest things I wish more people understood before they spent years thinking they were the problem.

You’re not failing at fitness.

Your approach might just be failing you.

Save this for the next time you feel like you’ve “fallen off”. 🙌🏻

Tired of starting over every time the plan stops working?

Before you jump on another plan, you need to understand what you’re doing and why…

You can follow your calories, meal plan and workouts perfectly… and still feel completely lost when something changes.

Because following instructions isn’t the same as understanding what you’re doing.

You probably don’t need another plan.

You need to know why it works and what to do when life doesn’t go to plan.

That’s the goal: for you to stop relying on someone else for the next answer and start feeling confident making decisions for yourself.

If that’s what you’ve been missing, my ebook is in my bio and if you have any questions my DM is open.

I used to think I had to be ABSOLUTELY ALL IN to make progress.

For years, I beat myself up whenever I missed a workout or ate something “off-plan.”

If I trained hard one day but skipped the next, I’d feel like a failure…

If I ate well for a week but had one indulgence, I’d restart my “perfect” plan from scratch…

I thought progress only counted if I did everything perfectly…
>> training, eating, staying motivated, never missing a session.

But life doesn’t work that way.

There are stressful weeks, low-energy days, and time when you are so busy or going through so much that just making it through feels like a victory.

I realised that chasing perfection only left me frustrated, exhausted, and stuck in a cycle of starting over…

Now, I see it very differently…

I focus on building habits that actually fit life..
The ones you can maintain even on messy, unpredictable days.

Because real health should support your life, not take it over.

That’s also how I coach.

Not for perfection.

Not for extremes.

But for progress you can actually live with and celebrate.

And I think more people struggle with this than they admit. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If that sounds like you, I’d love to help you build habits that actually fit your life… without guilt, without perfection.

Let’s work together so progress becomes something you celebrate, not something you chase.

Week 7, Training Update. 💪🏻🙌🏻
Still no pull-up yet… but I’m not failing. 😎

Because real progress isn’t always obvious.

It’s learning how to train around stress, fatigue, setbacks and the days when your body needs a little more care without giving up on your goals.

You can make progress without destroying yourself to get there.

If you need help figuring out what that looks like for you, my coaching + ebook are linked in my bio. 🙌🏻

My brekkie is pretty much always the same… and yes, it might be boring 😂
But boring works.

It’s an easy way to get 50g+ of protein in first thing, which makes hitting my 150-170g daily protein target so much easier.

Getting a solid amount in at breakfast means I’m not playing catch-up later in the day and I can just top up my protein with my other meals and snacks without overthinking it.

Not every meal needs to be exciting.
Sometimes simple, consistent and easy wins. 💪🏻

What’s your meal on repeat?

I used to think Monday was my opportunity to become a better version of myself….

More organised.
More productive.
More disciplined.
More consistent.

So I’d start the week with a huge list of everything I wanted to do differently…

And honestly?

It felt motivating for about 24 hours.

Then real life happened.

Work got busy.
Plans changed.
I was tired.
Something took longer than expected.

And suddenly I felt like I was “failing” at the week I had planned…

I don’t think I’m the only one who’s done this.

Especially when you’re someone who is capable, driven and used to holding a lot together…

You can become very good at asking yourself:
“How can I do more?”

Instead of actually asking…
“What would actually support me right now?”

That shift has changed so much for me.

I don’t want to build a life that only works when I’m having a really good week.

I want a life that still works when I’m tired, busy, emotional, or when things don’t go to plan.

That, to me, is what sustainable change actually looks like.

So this Monday, I’m not asking myself what I need to fix.

Instead…

I’m asking…
What would make this week feel a little easier?

And I’d love to know yours:
Structure?
Breathing space?
Or something completely different?

And if you’re new here, my free Real Life Playbook is in my bio 😉

I coach health and fitness for a living… and I’ll do that for the rest of my days, but…

I still have days where I don’t want to train.

I still have busy weeks.

I still eat meals because I’m hungry or fancy something rather than because they’re perfectly planned.

Being a coach doesn’t mean I’ve somehow mastered life. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It means I’ve learned that healthy habits don’t need to disappear every time life gets messy.

And that’s exactly what I help my clients with…

Helping them to find a way to look after their health and fitness that actually fits around their real life, rather than expecting life to fit around their plan.

If you’re ready for some support, send me a DM and let’s chat about coaching. ☺️

And if you’re not quite ready for coaching but want to find out a little more about me and how I approach health and fitness, my ebook is linked in my bio. 📖🙌🏻
